1、Unit 5: Languages Around the World The Chinese Writing System: Connecting the Past and the Present 第 2 课时 一、教学内容 探究汉字书写体系的功能和重要性，明确文本结构，学会用语篇三要素“what-how-why” 宏观审视文本。 第二课时的阅读主要处理标题第二部分：汉字书写体系的功能及其重要性，围绕“功能 重要性”的主线展开。教学以第一课时的作业介绍汉字书写体系的发展为导入，然后学 生寻找并分析汉字书写体系连接过去与现在的功能以及其他功能的句子。 明确其多种功能后， 再 定位体现汉字书写体系

2、重要性的语言并进行提炼归纳，推断出作者的写作目的突出汉字书 写体 系对中 国文明 的重要 性。之 后学生 进一步 理清文 本行文 结构， 从语篇 三要素 “what-how-why”宏观分析。整个过程侧重培养学生基于语言和文本分析的批判性思维和文 化意识，认识到汉字书写体系的功能与重要性，唤起学生传承汉字书写体系，传扬中国文化的强 烈意识。 二、课时目标 1. 通过寻读，归纳汉字书写体系的功能，梳理出 function 这条主线，提炼汉字书写体系 对中国文化传承等方面的作用，提高批判性思维能力。 2. 结合语言分析，明确汉字书写体系的重要性，探明作者写作意图，以写一篇演讲稿和口 头演讲的方式巩

3、固并迁移所学，发展创造性思维和语言综合运用能力，培养文化自信。 3. 学会梳理文本信息，并从语篇三要素“what-how-why”宏观分析文本结构，提升思维 的辨析力和逻辑性。 三、教学过程 Activity 1: Talking about the development of the Chinese writing system. 本活动为实现课时目标 1 作铺垫。 Introduce the development of the Chinese writing system by using the words and expressions about time and event.
