The actor says its also part of a long march toward recognition for Black performers, held back by oppression in Hollywood back to the early 1900s, when white people wore black-face to play Black c

8、haracters in films. Brown has made history at awards shows before: in 2018, he became the first Black man to win best actor in a drama at both the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild awards. With degrees from Stanford University and New York Universitys Tisch School of the Arts, Brown has spen

13、morizing lines takes practice and constant repetition. However, there are a few ways to make the memorization process run smoothly and quickly. 1For most performers, there is no quicker way of memorizing lines. To learn lines, an actor must recite the play loud over and over again. Most rehearsals(排

14、练) encourage this by running through the lines or having a“read-through”. By the time the opening night arrives, most actors have spoken their lines hundreds of times. Listen to your cast membersSometimes inexperienced actors spend rehearsals looking at fellow performers, waiting patiently to say th

This will help the actors learn their lines better because the context of the dialogue is absorbing. 3Because there is often not enough rehearsal time, many performers find ways to listen to the plays dialogue during everyday activities.
