Finally,Tom returns to school and become a hero at the trial of Muff Potter when he reveals Injun Joes guilt. When Injun dies,his treasure is divided between Tom and Huck,who i

8、s now adopted by Widow Douglas.Twain had made Tom the hero of American boyhood,and the book had become the classic read in schools.By telling this story, Twain fulfils his and other adults dreams of ideal boyhood. All the cruelties and fears,wonders and joys of childhood are brought into vividness.

16、lofty subject. That said, one of the most impressive aspects of his writing is the dialogue. Rather than try to describe it, well give you a taste. Without suitable dialogue,all of Twains observations and remarks would be like a cake without icing:still delicious,but not quite right.Humorous,KnowingAl

19、though The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is by no means an autobiography,Twain is most definitely writing from life experience.He sounds likewell,a fifty year-old man looking back at his childhood,and forming a narrative out of his memories.Memories of his youth in Missouri,of childish behavior and juven

20、ile fantasies;these are Twains raw materials.In retrospect,Twain can coax the humor out of adolescent foibles,and his insights into the strange and sometimes contradictory psychology of Tom and his compatriots contributes both to the truth of his depictions and their humor.Theme:Freedom leads to responsibility and can have negative consequences.SubTheme:People who are respected in society dont always deserve it.Its human nature to be drawn toward those who have money and power.
