6、usal and inevitable arrangement.*Plotting is done through the authors method of selection,deletion,concentration and reorganization of the materials for a desired purpose.The plotting of a story usually contains:the beginning(called exposition),the development(called complication),the heightening(ca

7、lled climax);the ending(called resolution).The conflicts may occur:lbetween opposing forces;lbetween the protagonist and antagonist;lbetween different points of view;lbetween two moral choices.A conflict can either be:lexternal(physical confrontation);orlinternal(moral,psychological,or spiritual str

8、uggle);very often,external conflicts are merely projections of internal conflicts.The open ending:In some stories nothing is ever resolved at the end.This kind of non-solution is called an open ending.In an open ending,readers are not told what the protagonist will do or what will happen next.This u

9、ncertainty,on one hand,mirrors the complexity of life in which neat resolution rarely occurs;on the other hand,it leaves more room for readers imagination.The Story :Roald Dahl The TasteReading Tips:You may have heard stories like this:someone can have a look and a taste of some tea and tell what ki
