8、x machines or traditional mails were used to exchange documents.Mailing and faxing are still used in business,but EDI is a much quicker way to do the same thing.A bar-code is a machine-readable representation of information in a visual format on a surface.Originally bar codes stored data in the widths and spaces of printed parallel lines,but today they also come in patterns of dots,concentric circles,and hidden in images.Bar-codes can be read by optical scanners called bar-code readers.
