Its” a nd the song “ Happy Thanksgiving to You!” b. Aims on the ability: To develop the ability about talking English names of hol

3、idays and their date, especially for Thanksgiving. And know how people ce lebrate these holidays. c. Aims on the emotion: To develop pupils emotion about giving thanks to parents, teacher and friends by many ways. 3. Teaching procedures At the beginning, teacher shows the calendar of today on PPT an

4、d the questi on “Whats the date today?” to encourage students to answer the sentence wit h “Its November 2.” Then, with the competition of “What holiday is it?” pupils passion is i nvoked. And the same time, the celebration ways f holidays of Tree Planting, Ch ildren s Day, Teachers Day, National Da

5、y and Christmas Day are reviewed. 2 Next, by watching the video about origin of Thanksgiving, pupils get acqua intance with Thanksgiving. And by singing the song “Happy Thanksgiving to You!” pupils are happy and willing to learn the text. In the text learning, three activities are designed. First, w

6、atch the video and then choose the correct words to fill in the blanks. Second, competition “See the picture and say the holiday and its date” . Third, make a role play. Finally, for extension, I put a discussion in this step. Pupil see the p ictures about things parents, teachers, friends do for th

7、em and discuss “Our p arents, teachers, friends do so much for us, what should we do to give thanks t o them?” Students say many ways to give thanks such as making cards, send flow ers, washing dishes and so on. This step is designed to develop pupils emotio n and to encourage pupils to express their emotion in daily life. In a whole, the teaching of this lesson aims to develop not only the pu pils language abilities but also pupils emotion express. For education, to teach students to be a grateful one is more important than a knowledgeable one.
