2、en from Unit 5 in Student Book of Grade 9. Its made up of five parts. Part One Talking about teaching material The topic seeks to introduce materials of different things in English and understand the usage of passive voice. And it runs through the structure “What is it made of/from?” and some things

3、 in our life and their materials, such as chopsticks, coin, fork, blouse, silver, glass, cotton, steel, and so on. Meaning while, it makes students learn to describe the places where the things were made exactly. By teaching and learning this part, students will have a chance to pay more attention t

4、o the materials of some daily things and develop students good life habits. And even cultivate their sense of their love for our country. As we know “Go for it” aims to enable students to learn the knowledge of English language around students life. Students have learned something related with their

5、 daily life and school life in the previous units. This unit is a further extension of the content we have learned before. Therefore, this top is necessary, important, practical, lively and interesting. The teacher will lead them to dip into the language application, so that they can learn without m

6、uch difficulty and develop their abilities. In this part, teaching aims and demands are the following: 【 ;百万教育资源文库 】  1) To Learn the structure “ Whats it made of/from?” and Where was it made? And some new words: chopsticks, coin, fork, blouse, silver, glass, cotton, steel  2) To understan

7、d the usage of passive voice. 3) Get to know the way to describe the materials of different things. 4) Enable students to know that we should have a good life habit and even have a good sense of love for our country. I think the difficult and key points are that how to tell the difference of be made

8、 of and be made from. Part Two Talking about teaching methods: To cultivate students abilities of listening and speaking skills, and their good sense of the English language. So in this part Ill mainly adopt two methods: “Communicative” teaching and “Task-based” teaching method.  In the former

9、one, students are engaged to express their opinions by discussing and practicing, students can be allowed to speak and listen to each other, offer and accept each others help. When students are doing activities, the teacher just joins them, giving them suggestions and the help they need, encouraging

10、 and correcting them timely. The latter one puts an emphasis on learning how to communicate through interaction in the target language. In a word, I want to make the students the real masters in class while the teacher himself acts as director. I also hope to combine the language 【 ;百万教育资源文库 】  

11、;structures with the language functions and let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language. Part three  Talking about learning methods Let Ss study in a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. So in the class the teacher should guide the students to practi

12、ce the sentence pattern and sum up the sentence structure themselves. Have the students take part in the activities of learning. Let them get personal learning while they are interacting. Part 4   Teaching Process: . Warming up  1. Show a note of 100 yuan to ask students “Whats it made of?

13、”(paper) and then ask students to think of other things that are made of paper so as to lead in to the new topic 2. Show some pictures of different kinds of shirts to lead into the title “What are the shirts made of?  【 Purpose】 To attract students attention and arise their interests in this to

14、pic II. Presentation 1. Show some pictures of different things and their materials on the big screen. Try to learn the new words using “be made of” structure.  New words: chopsticks, coin, fork, blouse, silver, glass, cotton, steel Structure: Whats it made of? - Its made of  2. Game (Eye c

15、hallenge). After showing all the new words and sentence 【 ;百万教育资源文库 】  structures. The teacher shows groups of pictures with different things and materials quickly to ask students make the sentences to consolidate the new words and sentence structure “Whats it made of? - Its made of”  【 Pu

16、rpose】 To consolidate the new words and the sentence pattern  3. Work on 1a:  Let Ss read the things and materials in 1a. Discuss with their partners and match them with the materials. 4. Show some different beautiful pictures of cars( it can draw students interest) to lead in to the sente

17、nce structure “Where was it made? -It was made in” Where were they made? -They were made in  . 5. Show different kinds of things and countries to practice the sentence pattern 【 Purpose】 The two steps is to present the sentence structure “Where was it made? -It was made in”  and practice i

18、t by pictures, students can get interested in accepting it visually. III. Practice 1. Listening. Tell Ss they will hear a conversation about some things and material. Listen and match the products with what they are made of and where they were made.   Things  Made of Made in shirts cotton

20、y the ring? 【 Purpose】 To make students get the listening information better. IV. Pair work  1. Show some pictures of different things, their materials and countries to ask students. Ss try to made conversations using the information in the pictures.  -What is this/are these  ?
