(3) Learning Strategies focus on the lesson and associate the development of the story. learn English by aims of teamwork. (4) Affect Try to be warmhearted when others ask you for help, and to be smart when you dont know the way. 重点难点 Teaching focus:how to ask the way and give directions. comprehend the story of textbook. Teaching difficulties: role play the story and design a town, including the map and introduction. 教学过程 I Warming up & Revision (7mins) 1. Games: review the words about places. board cards: review the words about directions. 2. Lets chant: How to give directions to others. 3. Dubbing. 4. Situational dialogue1: Janet is new here. Please show her the way. Purpose: 复习关于问路和指路的单词句型。 II Pre-reading (3mins) 1. Mind map: ways to find directions (how many ways to find the way?) 2. Elicit a special way that Aki uses to lead the way to the hotel. 3. Set the situation: Ben, Jiamin, Janet and Aki are going to the hotel. But they dont know the way to the hotel. Set two multiple choices: In which way they find the hotel? Will they find the way to the hotel? III While-reading (10mins) 1. First reading: watch the video and answer two questions. Besides, guess the meaning of new words through the passage. 2. Second reading: read the story following the tape. 3. Third reading: Tick or cross. Purpose: 通过图片和情境学习故事,初步感知整篇故事。 IV Post-reading (18mins) 1.Situational dialogue2: Role play Purpose: 巩固巩固输出课文。 2. Extension: A story about Funny town (1) Ben, Jiamin and Janet want to go to Funny Town the other day. Look at the map and find out the short cut to Funny Town. (2) Listening Park: know the directions of places in Funny Town. (3) Group work: guess the name of four places. (4) Number the directions: Treasure hunt. 3. Design our own towns (map + introduction) (1) Give examples: Kitty town (2) Show time: let students present their towns freely. Purpose: 检查学生对问路的词汇和句型的掌握程度,提高综合输出能力。 V Sum up (1min) The sentence structure of giving directions. Be warmhearted. Be smart. VI Homework Assignment (1min) (1) Finish the design of our own towns.
