Im very glad to see you. T: These are the important times for me. Do you know why? In 1982, I was born. T: When were you born? S1: I was born in 2006. T: How about 2002? Can you guess? T: I went to university in 2002. T: The last time 2012. T: I was a teacher in Tianyuan Primary School in 2012. These are very important times for me. (设计意图:以三个重要的时间为切入点介绍老师本人,引出并解决本课的生词 born 和 university,为后面学习理解故事内容扫清障碍。同时引出海伦凯勒的三 个重要时期,帮助学生理清故事脉络,为后面复述故事打基础。) Step2 Learning a story T: Today we will learn a story about Helen Keller. T: She also had some important times for her. Now lets watch the story and find out the times. (设计意图:让学生观看视频并找出海伦的重要时期目的是帮助学生理清故事 脉络,为后面深入学习故事内容做铺垫。 ) T: Now lets take on the Time Machine to go to the year of 1880. Lets see what happened? T: What happened in1880? S1: Helen Keller was born in the U.S. in 1880. T: How did Helen feel? S1: She felt very angry. T: Why? Please read the text from picture 1-3 and find out this answer. S1: Because she couldnt see anything. She couldnt hear anything. She couldnt speak at all. T: Did her parents know how to help her? T: She couldnt see anything because she was blind. T: She couldnt hear anything because she was deaf. T: Why did Helen become deaf and blind? S2: Because when she was 19 months old, she fell ill and became deaf and blind. T: Now lets play a game “If I was Helen, I feel”. T: How do you feel? S1: I feel afraid. T: Maybe Helen was afraid, sad, and angry every day. So was there hope in her heart? Ss: No. (设计意图:以“时光机器”的形式将学生带入 1880 年,了解那一时期海伦的 境况,并通过体验的方式让学生了解海伦的内心世界,从而挖掘故事深层次的 内涵。 ) T: No hope. But from 1887, Helen had a new life. What happened? S1: She had a teacher. S2: She wanted to teach Helen words. T: Was it easy? Ss: No, it was very hard. T: But how did Anne do? Please read the text from picture five. Then two students in pair act it out. T: If you were Helen, how do you feel? S2: I feel excited. T: So was there hope in Helens heart? Ss: Yes. (设计意图: “时光机器”将学生带入 1887 年,安妮老师出现了。这一部分 描写过于简单,让学生表演这段内容目的是让学生体验像海伦这样的残疾人学 习是多么困难的一件事情,安妮老师又是多么的不易和伟大。从而进一步挖掘 故事深层次的内涵。 ) T: From that day on, Helen changed. (设计意图: 让学生在文中找出海伦的变化,以此鼓励学生像海伦一样努力学 习。最后结合板书上的关键信息,复述故事内容,体味海伦的一生。以海伦的 名言结尾,点出本课的主旨。最后以熟悉的名人为例教育学生要心怀希望。 ) Step3 Homework: Read the book Three Days to See. 五、板书设计: Lesson 12 Helen Keller 1880 was born became deaf and blind no hope 1887 had a teacher worked hard hope 20 years old went to university became a writer give everyone 6、课后反思 本课教学重点是听懂、理解并能就故事内容提问,能够根据关键词提示复 述故事。本节课是一节有关名人传记的故事课。课文内容里面包含一些生词需 要学生能够理解,同时故事内容蕴含着一些人生哲理,学生能够通过本节课的 学习体会到一定的道理。针对这两点我在设计教学过程的时候采用类比性思维 方式。首先以三个重要的时间为切入点介绍老师本人,一来可以引起学生的注意 力,拉近与学生的距离,二来能够引出并解决本课的生词 born 和 university,为 后面学习理解故事内容扫清障碍。在解决了生词后,引出海伦凯勒的三个重要 时期生病前,生病后对生活的失望以及在老师的帮助下找到生活的希望, 帮助学生理清故事脉络为后面复述故事打基础。我以“时光机器”的形式将学 生带入到海伦凯勒的不同时期,然后通过教师提问、学生互问、情景表演、亲 身体会等方式理解故事内容。在学生回答问题的过程中我将关键词呈现在黑板 上,为学生进一步复述课文做铺垫。最后带学生穿越到海伦凯乐的故居,让学 生以小组为单位介绍海伦凯勒的生平,巩固复习本课的故事内容。通过本课的 学习再结合有关拓展姚明的一个小片段让学生明白“希望”对于人生历程的重 要性。本课不足之处是教师给予学生的自主学习性不够,课堂中掌控的东西过 多。应该提出更多的开放性问题由学生自主开动脑筋用英语进行表达。
