Aims of teaching We have 2 points in the part: Aim one:the students can get the main idea of the story by the pictures and the students can act out the story with the teachers help. Aim two: stu

Importance of teaching 1) Review the function sentences of this unit and put them into practice. a) Whats your name? b) My name is . c) How old are you? d) Im.years old. 2) students can get the meaning of the key words and the applic
3、ation of the function sentences in real conversation. Difficulties of teaching Students read the story by them and get the main idea. Teaching procedure 1) Warming up Use the song of this unit to make a warming up. 2) Review Review the key words and function sentences of the unit we have learnt. e)
4、Whats your name? f) My name is . g) How old are you? h) Im.years old. 3) Lead in Teacher gives some questions to the students and ask them to make a group discussion to get answers. Who are your friends ? Whatre your friends like? And then, the teacher goes into the story by “ask and answer” 4) New
5、lesson Step one:(look at the pictures) Show the pictures of the story. Give some relative questions of the story. Ask the students read the story with these questions by themselves at first. Step two:(discuss the pictures) Show the pictures one by one. Discuss the pictures. Tell the story together.
6、Step three:(go further to the story) Ask some questions about each picture again. Picture 1: who are they? Picture 2: how old is Tom? Picture 3-4: what do they want to do?/what does the cat want to do ? Picture 5-6: what happens to the two mice? Step four:(read the story again carefully) Ask student
7、s read the story again carefully to master it . Listen to the record of the story. Ask students to follow and imitate. Step five:(role play) Make an example at first by video. Group work, role play among the group members in 5 minutes. Show time. Step six:(further discussion) Give some questions to students. What do you think of the story? Which role do you like best? Why? What do you think a good friend should be like? Ask some students to talk about the story freely about what do you learn from the story? Step seven: blackboard design. Step eight: Homework Tell the story to your parents.
