Three minutes before class:English speech as usual. 2. An English song “If you are happy,clap your hands” to warm the class up 3. A fan-tan game to review the contents what we learnt during the last period. Step 2:Presentation Lets try 1.Predict before listing 2.Play the CD,listen and circle 3.Check the answers. Lets talk 1. Enjoy studentsmind maps 2. While sharing studentsmind maps,extending the vocabularies about feelings 3. Free talk First give the students an example T: guess :How do I feel? Then ask the students to give the reasons and suggestions about the feelings At last teacher act as a TV reporter to interview the students feelings reasons and suggestions. 4. Group work Four students in a group .One of them act as a radio anchor who gives the audience in a bad mood some suggestions to help them be happy again. After disscussion,give reports in a group 5. Watch the video with the questions “How does Sam feel?”What should he do? T:Sam is angry,what suggestions can you give Sam? to Lead in “you should.” Work in pairs to practise the dialogue try to make up new dialogues according to “Lets talk” and Lets learn” Step 3:Practice Act out the dialogue Step 4:Consolidation and Extension Make up and act out English short plays After performance,guide the students to give comments about English play. Extension: disscussion How to be happy? Share your happiness with your friends Healthy helpful thankful hopeful Step 5: Summing up Guide the students to have a summary of the contents of this period Step 6: Homework Write an English composition about you and your friendsmood.
