(Grade 9 Unit 10Section B 3a 3b) 【教材分析】 本单元以“Customs”为话题,谈论不同国家的不同文化习俗,渗透跨文化交际意识,使学 生了解不同的礼仪。本课教学专注于写作输出教学,要求学生能够恰当表达自己国家的文 化习俗和交际礼仪,以写一封信的方式帮助外国朋友融入中国环境。 【学情分析】 在本单元前几节课的学习基础上,学生已经基本掌握了一些西方国家的文化习俗和中法两 国的餐桌礼仪,也学会了运用“be supposed to do”,“be expe

2、cted to do”,“be impolite to do”, “be important to do”和一些情态动词来提出建议。本课目标在于 指导学生通过 Brainstorming,运用恰当的句式,表达中国的相关礼仪。最后学生结合阅 读经验,总结信件的书写格式,以写信的方式向外国交换生介绍中国礼仪。 【教学重难点】 1. 学生能够运用得体的语言表达中国习俗和礼仪。 2. 学生能够运用恰当的句式书写一封建议信。 【教学目标】 1. 语言技能目标: (1)学生能够运用得体的语言从五个方面表达中国习俗和礼仪: table manners, visiting others, choosing g

3、ifts, house rules, communication, . (2)学生能够总结阅读经验,写一封建议信,向外国朋友介绍中国文化习俗。 2. 语言知识目标: (1)学生能够熟练运用“be supposed to do”,“be expected to do”,“be impolite to do”, “be important to do”和一些情态动词来提出建议。 (2)学生能够掌握三个写作技巧:1.运用多种句型,增添阅读趣味;2.添加细节信息,丰 富写作内容;3.运用连接词句,清晰写作结构。 3.文化意识目标 学生能够通过表达和比较不同国家的文化习俗知识,了解不同国家的文化差异,提

4、高 人际交往能力,增进人与人之间的理解,培养跨文化交际的意识。 4.学习策略目标 (1)学生能够通过各种合作交流活动,得体地表达自己的观点。 (2)学生能够参照写作评分标准,互相评价课堂习作,避免常见错误,提高写作技巧。 【教学过程教学过程】 Step 1 Lead-in Ss watch a funny video T: This is Steve, an exchange student in China. Whats the problem with the man? S: He cant use the chopsticks. T: Do you think he knows Chin

5、ese customs very well? Ss: No. Step 2 Give advice on Chinese customs T: Steve knows little about Chinese customs, can you give him some advice? Ss try to give the foreigner some advice on Chinese customs. 1. Table manners Ss talk about table manners according to the pictures. 2. House rules T: If yo

6、u are an exchange students may live with a Chinese host family. What should you pay attention to? S: You should keep your room clean. When you go out, you should tell the family some important information. Youd better make a call if you dont go home for dinner . 3. Choosing gifts T: How can we choos

7、e a gift? S: Wed better choose flowers or fruits. Wed better not choose a clock or an umbrella. Because they have bad manners in Chinese. 4. Visiting others T: When we are visiting our friends, what are we expected to do? S: Dont show up at someones house with empty hands. Youd better bring a gift.

8、Please take off your shoes before you enter the house . 5. Communication T: When we meet people for the first time, what are we supposed to do? S: You are supposed to shake hands with people you meet. T: Do you know the daily greeting? S: Around meal time, you can ask a Chinese “have you eaten yet?”

9、 Step 3 Write some advice and make a group report T: You have helped Steve so much. Nowadays, more and more foreigners are coming to China. They need the same help as Steve. This is your pen pal Gina, can you write some advice for her in the chart? 1.Each group choose a kind of customs and write the

10、 advice in the chart. 2.Groups give a report about their advice: We will give some advice on table manners/. First, . Second, . Besides, . Thats all. Step 4 Write an article about Chinese customs T: You have collected so much advice for Gina. She must be very happy. Now, lets write a letter for her

11、to tell her these Chinese customs. 1.The writing speech: A letter Ss learn to write the first and the last sentences. 2.How to write the beginning and the ending? Beginning: Greet and tell the purpose of the letter. Ending: Express your good wishes for the person. 3.Compare two Students passages and

12、 learn three tips Tip1: Try to use different patterns and the article wont be boring. Tip2: Give more information to rich your article. Tip3: Pay attention to the linking words, they make your article more logical. Step 5 Evaluate the writing 1.Ss write a letter to Gina. 2.Ss get to know the evaluation to a writing in the high school entrance exam. 3.Ss try to evaluate an article from a classmate.
