It gives me great honor to be here to present my understanding of my lesson. I think education should follow, respect, care for the children, and let them grow up happily and healthily. So in my class, I create intelligent challenge situations by asking these questions: What do the children want to be in the future? Why do they have these dreams? How can we make our dreams come true? To guide the students to observe, find, imagine, listen, discuss and express. Ill present my lesson from the following three parts.Firstly, this lesson, which is designed on the basis of the teaching material, respects children by offering the atmosphere of freedom and innovation, and aims at effectiveness of teaching. The words in this class are related with jobs, some of which have been learned in Unit 5, Grade Five. I asked the students to preview the words about jobs according to their own interests before class. The key sentence pattern of this lesson is “want to be”. Students will learn this by the experience of dynamic activities. In this lesson, students will first recall the interests of Su Hai, Liu Tao etc. Then during the while-reading part, students will get the dreams of Su Hai, Liu Tao by skimming the text. Next, students will find the reasons for the dreams by deep reading, associating with what they have learned in Grade Five. At the end of this lesson, students will talk about their dreams, extending the learning material to their own life.Secondly, focused on the topic “People are in the middle of the class”, I adjust the teaching design according to students learning, to promote the growth of both the teachers and the students. Learning will not happen by simply telling. It should be got by the students initiatively. So, at the beginning of the lesson I helped the students to review the words about jobs by listening to songs and free talk. In the middle of the class, students find the dreams of the characters in the text by watching the cartoon and reading by themselves. At the same time, they will learn the new words: future,astronaut, pianist,dancer. In the second reading, students find the reasons for the dreams by deep reading, and learn the phrases: care about, fly a spaceship, World Cup. At last, students talk about their own dreams, and learn: come true. I respect students rights of expression and presentation of themselves, splitting the new knowledge into each part. During the class I will adjust the learning content according to what will happen in my class. I will adjust my design according to students learning, to promote my professional growth.Thirdly, this class, which is designed on the basis of Life experience, will nourish the students and deepen teaching reform.The students are in Grade Six, Who have certain life experiences. So I ask them to say the characters related to the words in the real life, while I am teaching the words: pianist, astronaut. While the students find the reasons, they are encouraged to say some famous writers. The topics can interest them. After class, I will ask them to retell the text and make a plan for their dreams, in order to induce the students to think of their own lives preliminarily.I hope the students can harvest the happiness of learning in my class.
