To make my presentation much clearer, I will describe my thoughts in the following 6 aspects: analysis of teaching material, analysis of students, teaching methods, learning method
2、s, teaching procedures and blackboard design.To begin with, I will analyze teaching material. This lesson comes from Part A of Unit 1, PEP Primary English, Book 3, Lets spell. The main content ofthis part is about the pronunciation rules of the vowel “a” This lesson is important for the students to
3、master the pronunciation rules of the English words, and built a solid foundation for the students to study English in the future. According to the New Curriculum Standard, the teaching objects are divided into 3 parts:Firstly, knowledge and skill aims: Ss can listen, read and spell the phonetic sym
4、bol ei and the new words of cat, cake, dad, date, hat, hate, face, name and make.Secondly, process and methodaims: Guide the students to take part in the group activities and the drilling of the capacity of using brains, hands and mouth. Thirdly, emotional and attitudeaims: Encourage the students to
5、 take part in the classroom activities proactively, speak English loudly and confidently and imitate actively.Based on analysis of teaching material, the key points of this lesson are to help students to listen, read and spell the phonetic symbol ei and the new words of cat, cake, dad, date, hat,hat
6、e, face, name and make. The difficult point is to help the students to summarize and master the pronunciation rules of the vowel “a”. Students in grade 4 have the basic knowledge of English and the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing; and the ability of cooperation, independent and i
7、nquiry learning. Meanwhile, they like to express their opinion and they have strong interest in English study.As we all know, the aims of teaching English in primary school is to cultivate pupils basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. Make sure the st
8、udents take part in class. Ask and answer in pairs and groups. Ill use task-based method, communicative method, group cooperate method, TPR method, performance and games methods to teach this lesson. Then we come to the most important part-teaching procedures, which will be demonstrated in the follo
9、wing steps: Step 1.Lead-in In this step, I will sing the “ABC” song together with the whole class. After that I will ask the students some questions, “How many letters are there in this song? ”, “How many vowel are there among the English letters? ”, and then guide the students to answer these quest
10、ions. Design purpose: It can create a relaxed atmosphere for the students to study in the classroom, and lay the ground for the new lesson. Step2. PresentationI will use the PPT to show some words, which contain the vowel of “a”, such as cake, face, name., and read these words. Students should pay a
11、ttention to the pronunciation of these words. Next, students should read after the PPT to imitate the pronunciation, I will ask them a question that “What does “a” sounds like in these words?” and thus to guide the students to try to find the pronunciation rules of the vowel “a”. Finally, I will sum
12、marize the pronunciation rules of vowel “a” with students and teach them how to pronounce the vowel “a” correctly, and lead them to read some words that contain vowel “a”. In the same way, I will lead the students to learn the other new phonetic symbols and summarize the pronunciation of vowel “a”.
13、Design purpose: Encourage the students to perceive experience and summarize the pronunciation of vowel “a” by themselves to cultivate their abilities of self-study. Step 3. Practice Activity 1: Guess the phonetic symbols according to the shape of the mouth. I will pronounce the phonetic symbols of e
14、i silently; students should try to guess the answer according to my mouth shape to practice and master how to pronounce them correctly. Activity 2: Find the right phonetic symbol. I will read the phonetic symbols of ei loudly, and students should try to find the right phonetic symbol cards as soon a
15、s possible. This activity could help the students to master the writing of these phonetic symbols.Activity 3: Find the right word card with phonetic symbol. I will read the words that contain the vowel of “a”, students should listen carefully about its pronunciation and find the right word card. Des
16、ign purpose: Practice the phonetic symbolsof ei through different activities and help the students to master the pronunciation rules of vowel “a” and some new words Step 4. Consolidation Task 1: Looking for family. I will prepare some word cards and draw four houses with the phonetic symbolsof ei ,
17、and then students should help these words to find their own families and stick the word cards to their families. The group which is quickest and correct will be the winner.Task 2: Chant. ei ei ei Say “ok” Eat an apple.Design purpose: The chant is simple and active for the students to learn and maste
18、r the pronunciation of the vowel “a”. Task-based teaching method is used here to develop students ability of learning by doing, and strengthen the knowledge we have learned today. Step 5. Summary Ss make a summary on what they have learned this class, and I will make supplement that we have learned
19、the pronunciation of the vowel “a”, and we can spell the phonetic symbol ei and the new words of cat, cake, dad, date, hat,hate, face, name and make.Design purpose: Check the Ss weak points and what they have learned this class. I will draw four houses with the phonetic symbolsof ei , and I will also prepare some word cards, then students should help these words to find their own families and stick the word cards to their families.i
