1、A Healthy Life Good afternoon, judges. Its my great pleasure to be here and share my lesson plan with you. The content of my lesson is Unit 3 A Healthy Life from Senior English Model 6 of PEP. Ill explain this lesson plan from five parts. Firstly, analysis of the teaching material, secondly, analysi
2、s of the students, thirdly, the teaching methods, fourthly, the teaching procedure, and lastly, blackboard design. 1. Teaching materialFirst, let me introduce the teaching material. The topic of this unit is health. Through talking about the health problems that people pay attention to, students wil
3、l realize the importance of keeping healthy and developing good habits, and learn to help other people solve health problems. By studying of this reading text, my students will understand the bad effects of smoking and some advice on how to quit it. 2. Analysis of the studentsThen let me have an ana
4、lysis of the students. As the topic of smoking is very close to our daily life, students must be very familiar with it. Students are of senior grade two with a high grasp of vocabulary but low level of text understanding. 3. Teaching aimsAccording to the new curriculum standard and my students condi
5、tion, I set the teaching aims as follows. Knowledge objective: students will grasp the the main vocabulary like mental, quit, manage and the main phrases like due to, addicted to, accustomed to. Ability objective: students will improve the reading ability, especially their skimming and scanning abil
6、ity, and the ability to get information from the text through Q-A method. Emotional objective: students will realize the importance of keeping health and the bad effects of smoking through the discussion of in what ways is smoking harmful. 4. Teaching key points and difficult pointsAccording to the
7、teaching aims, the key points of this lesson are to learn the bad effects of smoking and some advice on how to stop smoking. And the difficult points are to improve the reading abilities of skimming and scanning, and the ability to get information from the reading text.5. Teaching methodsNext, let m
8、e show you my teaching methods. The main instructional aims of learning English in the high School is to develop the students abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. We know that the teacher should have the leading effects, that is, teachers should guide Ss learn well. So according to
9、 my students English learning background, I will choose task-based language teaching approach that will improve their language use, and also the situational language teaching approach that will establish a real scene and the interaction between me and my Ss to facilitate their understanding. And als
10、o I will give my students some studying methods like preview, like I will ask my Ss to preview the text and think about the main idea of each paragraph. Then the independent learning and the cooperative learning will help to cultivate students interests and good habits of learning English. 6. Teachi
11、ng proceduresWell, now lets talk about the teaching procedure. Part one:warming up. There will be 2 tasks within 5mins. Task one is free talking. I will give five pictures of family, friends, money, house and health. And my Ss are required to talk about the question among these five things, what do
12、you think is the most important thing? Through this question, the topic of this unit-health is put forward. And the visual method adopted here attracts my Ss attention and interest. In task two, I will give my Ss five proverbs on health, such as Health is better than wealth, that will deepen their a
13、wareness that keeping healthy is really important.Part two: pre-reading. There will be 1 task of discussion within 5mins. I will first show some pictures of unhealthy habits, such as drinking alcohol, drug abuse and smoking and so on. And then Ss are required to have a discussion on why are adolesce
14、nts addicted to smoking? in groups of 4 members. I will ask 3 of them to show their opinions and list the opinions on the left side of the blackboard. Through this activity, the reading text will be led in and students will get more information on adolescent smoking. Part three: while-reading. There
15、 will be 3 tasks within 25 mins. In task 1, students will skim the whole passage to match the main idea of each paragraph from column A to column B that is listed on the PPT. Task 2 is scanning. I will give detailed questions of the 5 paragraphs and students are required to find answers from this pa
16、ssage. Before scanning the fourth paragraph, task3 will be added. I will give an discussion on in what ways is smoking harmful? in groups of 4 members. I will ask 3 groups to present their opinions and list them on the right side of the blackboard. Through the 3 tasks, students will have a full unde
17、rstanding of the whole passage and their abilities of skimming and scanning and getting information from text are well improved.Part four: post-reading. I will give students an exercise of gap-filling related to the main ideas of the passage. Students are required to finish it with the words and exp
18、ressions learned in this lesson. This task will help students learn better about the words and expressions of this period and the content of the text as well. 7. HomeworkAt the end of the class, I will present homework1. Make sentences with the following words and phrases: due to, addicted to, accus
