3、wrong. We were attacked by a bear. We started running out of food. It was just desperate. And we didnt get to the Pole; we didnt get there, so we had no media interest. No one heard about it: no book deal, and no speaking. I was so unhappy.” People said it was impossible for me to get to the Pole. I

4、 said, “No, I can get there, ” and I did. Selfbelief, I see it as being a bit like a muscle its my belief that the more you stretch yourself the stronger it gets. If you never do anything thats uncomfortable or risky then your selfbelief gets weaker. So thats one of the lessons Ive figured out along

5、 the way. The thing that Ive stretched and tested is my selfbelief. “My Antarctic adventure is just practicable and thats what is exciting to me. They discovered that they were actually very similar to another group of giant tortoises that live on the Aldabra Atoll, a group of islands in the Indian Ocean. When the tort

17、oises first arrive in Madagascar, they will live in an area closed off from the rest of the wildlife. There, researchers will watch the tortoises every move to see how they will react to the native plants. If all goes well, the tortoises will be released into the wild. Similar practice has been succ

18、essful in other places. Take the island of Rodrigues, located east of Madagascar, for example. Seven years ago, tortoises were brought there.
