The underlined word “” means.三、解题策略要把生词放到句子里,把句子放在句群里,切不可就词论词,离开特定的语言环境。四、解题技巧1. 下定义法猜词义。一般可通过短文中对生
2、词所下的定义或通过对生词的修饰语、补充说明成分等来确定词义。2. 对比法猜词义。通过由and, or, but, however, otherwise, while 等连词连接的同义词或反义词(词组)来判断生词的词义。3. 举例法猜词义。通过举例的提示词for example, such as等判断其前面的生词的含义。4. 关联词法猜词义。借助关联词because, as, since, of course, therefore等,找出生词与上下文之间的因果或转折性的逻辑关系,利用前后句的关系判断生词的含义。5. 通过简单的构词法猜词义。如:un-表反义词,-ment表名词,-er、-or或-
