We usually eat dumplings in North China, give children lucky money, hang spring couplets on doors and so on. In Spain, on New Years Eve, they eat twelve grapes when the clock strikes twelve. People believe twelve grapes can bring good luck for the next twelve months. The faster you eat, the happier you will be. In Italy, people also shoot firecrackers. But there is one special custom. They break old glasses, old bowls and old plates. It represents that they are getting rid of bad things. In Brazil, people in the countryside give New Years wishes in a unique way. Are they happy? How do they celebrate the New Year?
