第 1 页 共 2 页 Top 6 Extreme Sports in the World Hey guys welcome to my interesting article. We all love sports right? But some of the sports are dangerous and may cost you your life. But at the same time, these are the most adventurous sports. For adventure lovers, they are like having your favorite food on a bad day. So in the following article, I will be discussing Top 6 extreme sports in the world. 1. Creeking(溯溪)(溯溪) Creeking is regarded as one of the most extreme and dangerous sports in the world. Also, it is known as creek boating and also it is a branch of canoeing(划独木舟划独木舟) and kayaking(划皮艇划皮艇). In Creeking, the creek has to descend(下降下降) in canoes and kayaks steep(陡峭的陡峭的) and low volume white water. The canoes and kayaks give the person good performance and it can withstand(承受承受) the white water. Creeking is an extreme sport because one can get hurt because of the rocks that come in between and around the white water. So take care while you go on a Creeking adventure. 2. Free Soloing(自由单人攀岩)(自由单人攀岩) Free Soloing also is known as free solo climbing. In this dangerous sport, the climber has to climb up without any use of protective gear(用具用具), harness(背带背带), ropes. The sport will be successful or complete based on the ability and tactics(策略策略) of the climber. Free Soloing is in the loss of extreme sports because the climber is climbing up without any protection and if he falls it may result in severe injuries or even death. 3. Base Jumping(极限跳伞,定点跳伞)(极限跳伞,定点跳伞) Base jumping is in the list of extreme sports because of its life-threatening(危及生命的危及生命的) results. The full form of Base here is Building, Antenna, Span, and Earth. A Base Jumper jumps from the manmade structures rather than jumping from mountains, peaks, and other natural structures. The Base Jumper jumps from a building and has to open his parachute(降落伞降落伞) within seconds to land(着陆着陆)safely. Base jumping is an extreme sport because if due to(由于由于) any reason the Jumper is not able to open his parachute then this may cost his life. 4. Ice Climbing(冰山攀登)(冰山攀登) Ice climbing is a sport where the climber has to climb up the ice. The ice can be climbed in two forms of alpha(最初最初) ice and water ice. The equipment(设备设备) is chosen according to the form of ice. There are single, double or twin ropes used on ice climbing. Ice climbing is an extreme sport because the climber has to climb ice formed from frozen waterfalls, rock, or cliffs(悬崖悬崖) that are covered by refrozen ice. If the ice gets loosen(松开松开) or the technique(技术技术) goes wrong of the climber then it will result in severe harm to the person. 5. Wingsuit Flying(翼装飞行)(翼装飞行) This sport is mainly made for adventure lovers. At the start, the person has to gain enough altitude(高度高度,海拔海拔) and jump and then spread his arms and then fly in the air. To end the flight the person has to open the parachute and then land down. This is done because only the wingsuit cannot give a safe landing. 第 2 页 共 2 页 6. Rock Climbing(攀岩)(攀岩) Rock climbing is an extreme sport where a climber attempts to either climb a natural rock formation or an artificial(人造的人造的) one in order to reach the summit(顶点顶点). Professional climbers dont just climb for pleasure but also climb for competitions which are sometimes in the form of races or an exceptionally(罕见的罕见的,异常的异常的) difficult rock face is chosen and climbers are tested based on the distance they can climb since reaching the summit in this kind of competition is an arduous(艰难的艰难的) task. No two rock faces are the same and this has obviously led to different styles being developed. One of these styles is called scrambling(攀登攀登), a mixture of rock climbing and hiking where the climber walks up a steep hill with the aid of his hands, this is different to regular rock climbing which is normal on a vertical(直立的直立的) rock face and the climber puts all the weight on his arms. The earliest record in the history of rock climbing dates back to paintings from 200 BC which show Chinese men climbing rocks. 12th Century Native Americans from the Anasazi tribe(部落部落) were said to be excellent climbers but rock climbing gained popularity in Europe during the 19th century during mountaineering expeditions(探险探险). Rock climbing is such a fun and amazing sport, if you dont have the time to pursue(从事从事) this extreme sport abroad you can search for indoor rock climbing facilities(设施设施) near you, dont despair as some indoor rock faces can be quite a challenge too! After reading the article I think some of you are excited to try these sports while some of you must be thinking that this is not your job. Never mind everyone has their own choice. But I must tell you some of these sports have led to(导致导致) many deaths. If you still want to try these sports then use proper tactics and safety measures.Be sure to do your own research and speak to experts. Have fun but stay safe! I hope you enjoyed reading the article. Thank you for reading and keep visiting.
