Lead in with stories. Today lets learn one of the stories. Guess: Whos in the story? Cover parts of Ma Liangs portrait and the name of Ma Liang (马良) on the screen. Do you know sth. about Ma Liang? Who can tell more? Part A? Part B? When the student mentions magic, the teacher will give him/her a magic present by playing a magic trick. Presenting, Learning, Thinking and Imaging 3. Task Learn the story in English. And tell the story in English. Find the story king in our class. 4. Video A short video about Ma Liang. Who were in the story. Ma Liang and an old woman 5. Read Page 1 How can we start a story? Please read loudly Page 1. Then inquire the answer from one pupil: Long long ago, there was a good boy. His name was Ma Liang. He helped people. Give emphasis with red colour. The teacher writes on Bb Long long ago, was, put the card helped people on Bb. 5. Read P 2-3 T: How did he help people? Please read from Page 2-3, underline the key words. Require the answers from the students. Sn: He had a magic paintbrush. An old woman didnt have food. So Ma Liang painted food. 6. Think, read and tell. T: Did Ma Liang only help the old woman? Sn: No. T: Look. There was an old man. What happened to him? Can you guess? Sn: He didnt have. T: So what did Ma Liang do? Sn: Ma Liang painted. T: Then the . Ss: Became real! T: Children. Thats my idea. 3 Ss: An old man didnt have a house. So Ma Liang painted a house. Then the house became real. 7. Imagine and discuss with your partner, create more plots for the story. T: Not only these two people, he helped more people, Who? Show the poor people in the village. Sn:Maybe a boy/ a girl/ a young woman/a. Imagine and discuss more with the partner in 15 seconds. And tell loudly. On the screen, there are two blank parts for the pupils to imagine. And there are the sentence patterns on it. 8. Tell the story you make up. Get two pairs to show in the front. And give them the certificate of story king. 9. About Ma Liang. T:Do you like Ma Liang? Why? Sn: Because he is good.( helpful, nice, kind) We can learn a lot from Ma Liang. 10. Read P8-10 and tell T: But did the people and Ma Liang live happily all the time? Ss: No! T: What happened?
