Emotion objective Students can think about their dream jobs and they can fight for their dreams. Teaching key points: The words and the target languages. Teaching difficult point: Students use the target languages to talk about jobs. Teaching aids: Some pictures, some word cards and the multimedia. Teaching methods: 1. Audio lingual Language Teaching method. 2. Communicative Language Teaching method. 3. Taskbased Language Teaching method. 4. Pair work. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warm up & Lead in 1. Simple greetings and simple self-introduction. 2. Review the learnt words. Flash the word cards and students say the words. 3. Review the sentences learnt. Use the word cards to ask and answer question “Whats his/her job? He/She is a. 4. Students listen to the song What do you want to do. Step 2 Presentation 1. Present the new words. a. Show the pictures of Ma Yun and Steve Jobs to teach the word businessman. (Ask students Whats his job?) Show the picture of Zhang Yin to teach the word businesswoman. b. Present the features of the police officer and let students guess the job. Show the picture of a police officer. (Ask students What does he do?) Show pictures of a policeman and a policewoman. c. Show a picture of a factory worker. Ask students to ask question.(What does she do?) d. Show a picture of a postman to teach the word. e. Lets chant about the new words. 2. Present the target languages. a. Students work with the teacher to practice the sentences. b. Students listen to the tape and match the people with the jobs. After listening, well check the answers. Then, students do pair work to talk about the people according to the listening. c. Students listen to the tape of Lets learn. Present the sentence“Is he/she a . d. Play a game (Who has sharp eyes?). Students look at the pictures and use the sentence“Is he/she a . to guess the job. The teacher will do an example first. Step 3 Consolidation Students do pair work to consolidate the target languages. A: What does he/she do? B: He/She is a. A: Is he/she a.? B: Yes, he/she is. /No, he/she isnt. Step 4 Summary & Extensive activity 1. Students fill in the blanks about Chen Jies and Johns familys jobs. 2. Students talk about their dream jobs. 3. Students listen to a song named Be What You Wanna Be. After the song, I will add some new words and give students moral education. Step 5 Homework 1. Read the new words at least three times. 2.
