The earth is 4600 million years old. We humans have lived on earth for only 3500 years. But during this period we have done something harmful to our planet in many ways. As a result, There are many kinds of pollution around us. Air pollution. Burning gas, oil and coal create air pollution. It can cause sore eyes and breathing problems. Carbon dioxide(CO2) in the air has formed a blanket around the earth, the temperature is rising. This is called the greenhouse effect(温室效应). With the development of industry, millions of trees are cut down every year . Litter is everywhere. It makes our environment dirty. People put a lot of litter into the land. When it rains or blows, the earth is taken away. Forests become deserts. In the field, farmers use too many chemicals which pollute the soil. Land pollution cause danger on food safety. Water pollution is also serious. Some factories pour waste water into the rivers or lakes. More and more fish are disappearing. And many rivers and lakes are now dead. Noise pollution can make people deaf. For example, people may lose their hearing if they work in a noisy place for a long time. Too much noise can cause high blood pressure as well.
