This is the first lesson of this unit, so its very important to lay a good foundation fo

2、r the whole unit. This unit can help students make proper plans about their future intentions. It also helps them know the importance of making plans before doing something. Of course, learning this unit can let them know many jobs and the ways to being that job while practicing. b. the teaching obj

3、ectives 1) knowledge objectives:To grasp the simple future tense. 2) ability objectives: To understand and use simple future tense to make intentions. To train the students ability of working in groups. To develop students abilities of listening and speaking. To foster the students consciousness of

4、good cooperation and proper competition. 3) moral objectives: While learning, students may pay more attention to details and become more careful. Through using simple future tense, students can understand the importance of making plans and make proper plans before doing things. c. the main points an

5、d difficult points. The main point is the form of simple future tense. Difficult point is how to use it skillfully. II. Analysis of the students The students I teach are in Grade 8. Teenagers of this age are changing their imagery thinking into abstract thinking. They have already had some basic Eng

6、lish skills and they are interested in learning English, too. But some cant do it very well. So more direct presentation should be given while teaching. The teacher needs to use different kinds of available teaching methods that are vivid to arouse students English learning interest. III. Ways of te

7、aching and learning. Teaching methods: a. Task-based” teaching method b. Situational teaching method c. Multimedia Assisted teaching method Learning methods: a. Cooperative learning strategy. b. Pair work. c. Discovery learning strategy. IV. Teaching procedures a. Lead in First, Ill show a picture o

8、f some cartoon characters about jobs. Then let Ss list more words about jobs in groups to start a brainstorm. Have a guessing game about jobs. b. Presentation Watch a music video about jobs. Present the new sentence pattern: What do you want to be when you grow up? Students answer the questions acco

9、rding to what they watched in the video like “I want to be a/ an” To review the words about jobs . c. Practice Have a chain practice about the new sentence pattern to consolidate the sentences one by one. Do the listening part in 1b. Learn another new structure “How are you going to do that?” from t

10、he listening material. Make a conversation like 1c according to the listening. Perform in class. d. Consolidation In order to make Ss remember the new sentence patterns, let Ss do a survey in groups and then give a report in class. e. Homework Review what we have learned today and give them their todays homework. At last, I will play a music for students. The song let students know to go out of their way to make their dreams come true. Give them courage to move forward. And then end up with a saying “Where there is a will, there is a way.”
