Welcome to our school and I feel greatly honored to introduce a traditional Chinese festivalthe Spring Festival. The festival falls on the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year. It is celebrated with a variety of activities, ranging from putting up spring couplets, setting off fireworks to giving children red envelopes. The most special moment is when the whole family enjoy the New Year feast and the company of each other. As a time-honored tradition, the Spring Festival has become the symbol of Chinese peoples love for family and hope for a better future. Thanks for your listening. Possible version 2 Good morning, my dear friends. Im Li Hua. Welcome to our school. Knowing youre keen on traditional Chinese culture, Id like to introduce I traditional Chinese festival to youthe Dragon Boat Festival. The Dragon Boat Festival falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, so its also called the Double Fifth Festival. On that day, we usually eat Zongzisticky rice dumplings 2 wrapped in bamboo leaves. As the festival name shows, people hold dragon boat races to celebrate it, especially in the southern places in memory of Qu Yuan, a great poet of ancient China. Therefore, its regarded as a day of mourning and cherishing the memory. Thanks for your listening. 第二节(第二节(25 分)分) There, underneath the tree, was a beautifully packed gift box. Inside it was the “doll” I expected. With butterflies in my stomach, I breathed deeply and then opened it expectantly. However, much to my disappointment, it was nothing like the one that we saw at the store. She wore a plain skirt with a simple face. Her black woolen hair was pulled back in a pony tail, with no shiny tiara at all, not to mention the crystal shoes. She was nothing like Cinderella; she looked more like the ugly stepsister. But I could see Mother watching me, waiting for my response. I knew Mum would be sad if she knew what I really felt. Hiding my disappointment, I shouted with delight, “Shes hard to resist! Thanks, Mum!” A relieved smiled appeared on my mothers face. From time to time, I would take the “ugly stepsister” out and admire it. It is a reminder of my mothers love. Her love would make me special and happy even if things did not always tick all the right boxes. 听力原文听力原文 Text 1 M: How about seeing the movie “The Sound of Music” at the theatre tonight? W: Sounds great, but Ive got to go over my notes for tomorrows exam. Text 2 M: I have tried very hard to find a solution to the problem, but in vain. W: Why not consult with Frank? You see, two heads are better than one. Text 3 W: And what are your plans for the holiday, Steve? M: Oh, I want a lazy time somewhere on the beach with lots of sun. W: Really? I thought you always go climbing mountains somewhere. M: Exactly, so this year will be different. Text 4 W: Tony said he could fix my bicycle, but I really doubt it. M: Dont worry. Hes very good at this sort of thing. 3 Text 5 W: It shouldnt take long to clear up after the party if we all volunteer to help. M: Thats right. Many hands make light work. Text 6 W: The play was interesting. I enjoyed every minute of it. M: So did I. Hamlet is always classical. W: Exactly. Lets stop in the supermarket for a minute. I need some medicine. M: OK. Ive got to buy some cigarettes, anyway. W: Really? Why cant you set a good example for Tommy and Johnny? They are big boys. I never like boys smoking. I cant bear two more smokers in the house. Text 7 M: Im now at the airport to meet Mr. Dale who is arriving at 3:00 pm. There will be some calls for me while Im away, so please take a message. W: Certainly. What time will you be back? I need to get to Cambridge today. M: Would you like to go by train or by bus? W: I am not sure. Which one is better? M: The bus is cheaper but also slower. It will take about two and a half hours. W: And how long does the train take? M: If you take the fast train, it will take about 50 minutes. W: Where do I catch the train? M: The trains for Cambridge leave from Kings Cross Station. They run approximately every half-hour. Most trains to Cambridge go from Platform 9. 4 W: How do I get to Kings Cross Station? M: The best way is to take an underground tube train directly to Kings Cross Station. The underground station is just round the corner from here. W: Can you show me on the map? M: It is very easy. Just turn right when you leave and then turn right again at the first crossroads. The entrance to the underground station is about 50 meters further on. W: Thank you very much. M: Youre welcome. Text 10 M: Today Im going to talk about gesture, and how we use our hands when we talk. Most of what Im going to say is based on research done by Professor Susan Meadow. Shes written about her work in a book called Hearing Gesture: How Our Hands Help Us Think. Its on your book list. Professor Meadow has spent a long time studying gestures. We usually dont even notice how were using our hands when we talk. But try talking without hands! Our hands and our eyes and even how we move our bodies all help us to communicate. OK. The first point Id like to make is that everybody gestures, including even people who have been blind from birth. So even someone who has never seen a gesture will use their hands when theyre speaking. So scientists have concluded that gesturing is not something that we learn from other people. Its something that we do naturally, and that were all born with.2020202020212021 年度第一学期期末考试年度第一学期期末考试 高一英语高一英语 注意事项:注意事项:1. 1. B Earlier last month, when a young woman and a male friend were meeting up at a coffee shop in Tianjin, another man tried to chat her up and asked her for her WeChat ID. The woman politely turned down the mans request but a few days later she got to know that a video of her at the coffee shop had been posted on a short video-sharing platform. The woman was furious as the man who had tried to chat her up had not told her he was making a video nor taken her permission before uploading the video. She left a comment under the video, asking for its removal, and even reported the matter to the platforms handlers. The account that posted the video was soon disabled. However, this case is far from alone. Websites dealing in short-videos are filled with accounts that post such videos showing “how to chat up women”. Their purpose is to post such videos for money. Taking a video of someone without their permission and uploading it violates (侵害) someones right to privacy, but such videos are being made and uploaded online with increasing frequency. It was only because the woman in this instance complained that the video of her was removed. What if her attention had not been drawn to the video? One just has to browse these sites to find many such videos. Obviously, there are loopholes in the supervision (监管漏洞)of some short-video platforms, as they are uploading contents that violate other peoples right to privacy. Women need to watch out if a stranger tries to chat them up. If they suspect the person interacting with them might have a hidden camera somewhere, they should consider calling the police to better protect their right to privacy. 24. What is the writers intention for writing the first two paragraphs? A. Warning women of the possible harm. B. Introducing the topic of violating privacy. C. Stressing the seriousness of the phenomenon. D. Commenting on the mans unacceptable behavior. 25. What is the man s most probable reason to upload the video ? A. To impress viewers.B. To earn money. C. To contact the woman.D. To share the platform. 26. What is the main idea of the paragraph 4? A. There are more and more privacy-violating videos on line. B. It is wrong to take videos of people without their knowing. C. It is of importance that we protect our right by complaining. D. A number of people go to websites with improper materials. 27. What is the authors attitude to the management of some short-video platforms? A. Positive.B. Satisfied.C. Negative.D. Doubtful. C Do you still remember the scene in the famous movie Titanic, directed by Cameron, where Jack was frozen to death in the icy cold water so that Rose could survive on the floating door alone? It broke many peoples hearts. Two decades later, people are still asking the question, “wasnt there enough room on the door for both of them?” Cameron once responded by saying it wasnt a question of room, but buoyancy(浮力)if both of them had tried to stay on the door, he argued, the whole thing would sink. But several guys from “Mythbusters”, an Australian-American science entertainment television program, decided to put the theory to the test themselves. They discovered that if Rose had took off her life jacket to the bottom of the door, there would have been enough buoyancy to keep both of them afloat. “It was an artistic choice, the thing was just big enough to hold her, and not big enough to hold him,” Cameron said. “I think its all kind of silly, really, that were havin
