3、 IV. Teaching procedures Step 1 Guided brainstorming T asks Ss to have a free talk about their feelings of their favourite films. T: Hello, boys and girls. When you have no idea whether a film is worth watching or not, what will you do? T: We often search for a film review about the film on the Inte

4、rnet, to know more about the film and others comments on it. So do you know what a film review is? Today we will first listen to a monologue about how to write a film review, and then read a film review of The Kings Speech. 【设计意图:用一个问题“当你想了解一部电影是否值得一看时,你会如何做?”让学生进 行头脑风暴,从而引出本节课的主题影评。 】 Step 2 Guided

5、 listening 1. Listening preparation T asks Ss to predict before listening to the monologue. T: Miss Li, who is the organizer of the school Film Festival, will introduce something about how to write a film review. Before we listen, please answer this question: what information could be included in a

6、film review? T: Go through part A1 and circle the key information. Then, try to finish the chart in your own words. 【设计意图:该部分通过鼓励学生猜测一篇影评中应该出现的内容,并尝试完成 A1 部分的 思维导图,最大化地进行听前热身。 】 2. Listening practice 2 (1) T asks Ss to listen to Miss Lis introduction and complete part A1 on page 8. T: Now, please li

7、sten to the introduction and finish part A1 on page 8. Are your predictions right? (2) T asks Ss to read part A2, listen to the introduction again and fill in the blanks. 【设计意图:该部分可以根据学生学情,酌情给予多听几次的机会。第一遍让学生将自己听 到的内容和之前预测的内容对比; 第二遍让学生完成细节信息的填空; 第三遍让学生再次检 测自己所听到的内容。 】 3. 9、1. Content predicting before reading T asks Ss to guess what will be written in the film review before reading with the knowledge they have learnt in the last step. T: My young friends, our considerate Miss Li has also recommended a film review about The Kings Speech for us, thinking maybe we still

10、have some difficulty in writing one. Lets guess what aspects might be included in the film review. For example, the film review might include the Film review Basic information about the film Information about the films setting and storyline Your opinion of the film Whether you recommend the film or

11、not Give the name of the film, the directors name and the names of the main actors. Give information about when and where the film is set and what happens in the film. Dont say what happens at the end of the film. Dont give your opinion without giving examples. Dont make the reader guess what you th

12、ink. Include details about the acting, characters, music or special effects. Describe the type of person that you think might enjoy the film. Use lots of interesting adjectives. 3 films name, the storyline of the film, and the authors opinions about the film and so on. Can you come up with other thi

Please think it by yourself, discuss with your partner and then share your opinion with all the class. T: What

15、other aspects of a film can we comment on in a film review? (2) T asks Ss to draw a mind map for their own film reviews. T: Next period, you are supposed to write a film review, so please do some preparations and draw a mind map by yourselves after class. Before you draw your own mind map, you can u

18、rmances of the main actors. It has narrow indoor sets and dark lighting, which creates uncertainty and tension.
