1、Go for it(Grade 8) Unit 7Whats the highest mountain in the world?Language Focus: Grammar I. Language goal The topic in Unit 7 is “talking about geography and nature”. In section A, the students will be exposed to the large numbers, measurement structures and further usage of comparatives and superla

2、tives with adjectives and adverbials in the learning of the geographical knowledge around the world. Meanwhile, students will be able to learn humans spirit in face of difficulties and challenges. On the basis of section A, section B presents some knowledge about elephants, pandas, the panda researc

3、h base. The students will be able to acquire more ways to express comparisons in terms of listening, speaking, reading and writing, which helps the students build up the sense of animal protection. In this Grammar period, the students will have a systematic study of measure structure and comparison.

4、 II. Description of the students The students have learnt some basic listening and reading strategies like: scanning, skimming, prediction. Students from class 10 are smart, energetic, motivated, so teacher should encourage them to find out different ways of comparison by observing the examples and

5、thinking deeper so as to practice their target language in grammar study. III. The aims of this period 1. The students will learn how to describe geography with large numbers and different comparisons; 2. The students will be able to practice them in target language; IV. Possible problems Some stude
