Status and Function (a) In this unit, we mainly talk about the words of countries and the pictures of their flags.The Ps should know the activities in different countries. (b) This is the second class of this unit. Ps are interested in the words of countries and the topic of things to do in different countries. 2. About the Lesson (a) The main topic of this lesson is the famous buildings and activities in different countries.During this period, Ps will learn how to talk about themselves and introduce their friends. (b) Such a topic is related to daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interests of Ps and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English. Part To analyze the pupils. Although they have already learned English for about four years, their learning foundation is relatively poor because of the family environment. However, they have strong curiosity and the sense of competition. They are willing to take part in various teaching activities. According to the features of pupils, teaching should be diverse to catch the pupils attention . I will give more time to Ps, they can learn English in cooperation and by themselves. Part . Teaching aims . According to the teaching outline and the Ps situation. I make the teaching aims of this lesson as follows. 1. Aims on the knowledge (a ): Ps can listen clearly and speak out these new words in right pronunciations:Big Ben,the Great Wall,Disneyland,koalas and maples leaves. (b): Ps can master and use the new sentence patterns : We can see koalas in Australia. We can see maple leaves in Canada. We can visit Big Ben in the UK. We can visit the Great Wall in China. We can visit Disneyland in the USA. 2. Aims on the abilities (a) To develop pupils abilities of listening and speaking. (b) To train the pupils ability of working in groups. (c) To foster pupils abilities of communication and their innovation. (d)Ps can expressive their needs in English. 3. Aims on the emotion (a) Ps can get fun from English studying. (b) Ps can know something about the countries in the world and activities in different countries. (c)Ps can talk about themselves and introduce their friends. Part IV. Important points ( a) . Speak out the key words in right pronunciations:Big Ben,the Great Wall,Disneyland,koalas,maple leaves. ( b) To help pupils master and use the new sentence patterns We can visit Big Ben in the UK. Difficult points To help pupils master and use the sentence patterns to talk about the the famous buildings and activities in different countries.Ps will learn how to talk about themselves and introduce their friends. Part . Teaching methods. Make the Ps take part in class, the Ps ask and answer in pairs and groups, Ill use the Communicative teaching method, the Audio-Lingual teaching method and the Task- based teaching method. Part Teaching Aids. In order to interest the students, Ill use CAI , pictures,real objects, and blackboard . Part Teaching Procedures Step 1. Warm -up and lead-in. 1.Greeting. 2. Step 2. Presentation . 1. Present the words Go on to show PPT to them and ask them. T:Where are you from? Ps:Im from China. T:What can we do in China? Lets have a look. Listen and learn the word”visit the Great Wall” Ask the Ps to read the words one by one,then read them in groups and read together. Then teach the other new words in the same ways.We should pay more attentions to the word”leaf” and “leaves”. 2. Practice the dialogues A:Where are you from? B:Im from China.
