Itsa/an dog monkey 动物是人类的好朋友动物是人类的好朋友 我们为什么要保护野生动物?华南植物园的一名昆虫学博士的观点也许告诉 了我们答案。在他看来,这些要比人类古老得多的野生动物,虽然个体微不足道 ,但是它们种群之间却在自然进化的过程中,与周边的自然气候、生态环境通过 食物链、生存链等,自然而然地形成了千丝万缕的共生关系。这就好比生态系统 是一张巨大而又无形的蜘蛛网,当一个物种灭绝了,这张网上其中一个结点就会 消失,而这又会再次引发其它结点的消失。因此在我们看来,表面上只是一个物 种的灭绝,但我们不知道的是,这可能就是一片生态系统的崩塌。以我国的华南 虎种群为例,由于人类的捕猎和生存环境的人为改造,使该类物种几近灭绝,而 华南虎赖以为生的鹿科动物、野猪等种群数量也出现急剧的减少。这就是一类物 种灭绝而引发其它一系列连锁的生态反应。这就很像我们玩层层叠游戏,所有物 种就如搭建“大厦”的“木块”,而物种灭绝就如“釜底抽薪”。“大厦”倒了,意味着我 们赖以生存的生态系统崩坏,那最终灭绝的就是我们人类自己。 Whatisinthezoo?
