Presentation of Teaching Plan about Unit5 (The second period ) Background of English teaching in primary school: It is not a long history that English is as a subject in primary school in our country and the main instructional aims of teaching English in primary school is to cultivate pupils basic abilities of their listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. Our boys and girls are exposed to English for the first time, so it is very important to develop their keen interest in English. I. Contents: Today Im going to talk about Part B of Unit 5, STP Primary English, Book 8. it provides a real situation for the Ss to describe somebody. II. Teaching aims According to the teaching outline and combining the students Situation, I make the teaching aims of this lesson as follows: The aim of knowledge is to learn and master two sentences: Whats like? What do you think of him/her? The aim of abilities is to train the students listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The aim of emotion is to make the students have successful feeling and be able to cooperate in groups. Important point: Use the two sentences fluently . Difficult point: How to use the sentences fluently and freely. III. Teaching and learning methods As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in pri mary school is to cultivate pupils basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations, finish a task by making a survey to help the Ss to get a b etter understanding of the key structure of the dialogue.
