Group1 Group 2 Group 3 Group 4 VI Teaching Procedures Say cheese. Part 1 Teaching Material Analysis: Teaching content: Saying Cheese is the seventh lesson of the fourth album of English This Way. Published by Sichuan Education Publishing House . It has one key drill and some dialogues. The teaching material is to foster listening and speaking skills and to lay a good foundation for future study. Teaching key and difficult points: Key Points: Let the students know the flexible use of “Lets”through drills. They can use the dialogues in daily life. Difficult Points: Use the conversations in daily life. Part 2 Teaching aims: The knowledge aims: Understand and use the drill “Lets”. Master the text and use the conversations in daily life. The ability aims: Improve students listening and speaking skills by studying the new lesson. Cultivate their ability to study independently. The emotion aims: With positive attitudes and in cheerful moods, the students can take part in the teaching process. Part 3 Students condition analysis The fourth grade students are always curious about everything. Since they have studied English for two years, the teacher should help them learn to use and get a sense of success by using a second language. Step 2 Lead-in (3 minutes) Review the words that have learned before. T: Look! Whats this? Good! Its a camera. Camera. T: What do I do? Yes, take a photo. Take a photo. T: What s this ?The girl, please! Great! Photo. Here you are. Purpose: Consolidate the words and improve the students memory, listening and speaking skills. Step 3 Sentence patterns (15 minutes) 1. Sentence presentation Using the familiar words to teach the sentences could help students understand the meaning. Invite students to take a photo together and teach the sentence “Lets take a photo .” with body movement .Then teach the whole class to read the sentence “Lets” and help them answer “What a good idea!”. Show some pictures quickly on the PPT, then students guess and say the words with the drill “Lets”. Others to say “ What a good idea!” Praise the fastest one. Act and say. While one student do the action, other students guess the words and say them with the drill “Lets” . Drive trains. Divide the class into groups in a line. Pass the pictures one by one and read the sentence “Lets” with the words. The line which is the fastest and correct is the winner. Praise the good group. T: Do like this. Lets fly a kite. Purpose: This step is to take a variety of activities and mobilize more students to be active in learning. Step 4 Text learning (18 minutes) 1. Teach the text The teacher should set up effective scenes. Have the students learn the conversations. Show PPT , ask students to listen carefully. Help the students understand the text roughly. T: Do you have fun? Look! Our friends Tingting, Lele, Rose and Peter, they have fun too. What s up? Please listen to the recording carefully. Ask students some questions about the new lesson. “How about this place? What can they see? What do they do? How to ask for help? What do they say ? ” With the questions, students listen to the recording again. Work in groups. Ask the students to discuss the answers in groups and write them down. After that, ask each group to give their answers and present the answers on the PPT. Listen to the recording again. Ask students to underline difficult words and sentences. Teach them to help each other to understand the difficult points. After that, let students explain them. If necessary, teacher give them some help.
