As far as Im concerned, the bio-technology and green technology are growing all the time. Lots of traditional jobs such as factory jobs and routine office work, I think, will be done by AI. Sample Kristy goes to a guidance counsellor, Mr. McDougall, for advice about choosing a university course that will lead to a good job in the future. Mr. McDougall says therell be new jobs related to information technology, bio -technology and green technology. So he advises Kristy to learn different kinds of skills. First, he thinks the ability to learn new skills is important because in the Sample future people may have 4 or 5 different jobs over many years. Second, using the Internet, learning new IT skills and keeping up with technology developments will give people the tools they need to find work in the future. He also mentions languages. Some may choose to learn another language in order to communicate with more people. Lastly, he says critical thinking and creativity will be crucial in the future, as people need the ability Sample to consider and evaluate information and do more creative work like coming up with new ideas and thinking about how to improve existing processes and activities. Summary In this lesson, we have listened for general and specific information about abilities and skills to be needed in the future; learned how to summarise main information; recalled and orally summarised the main information of the conversation between Kristy and Mr. McDougall. Why or why not? guarantee: n. something that makes something else certain to happen e.g. Career success is no guarantee of happiness. Im not sure I agree with that. Of course, a university degree is very important, especially if you want to work in a prestigious company. It is kind of like a stepping stone to an offer of a job interview. However, whether you can get the job depends on your performance and potential to handle the work well. So, a university degree does not necessarily guarantee that you can get the job. A possible answer: Fucus on Functions: Agreeing and disagreeing You are going to listen to a dialogue between Lu Yan and her uncle.
