At the first period of this unit, students learn to communicate about the need of food with the new words and sentence pattern. Pupils Analysis 学生分析学生分析 The students in grade five are interested in English learning. They tend to learn English in a relaxing atmosphere and in the way of various games and activities. In the past, they have learned the similar sentence pattern “What do you have?” and they are easy to use new sentence pattern “What do they need?” to learn the new knowledge. T then ask ss “What do we need for a healthy body?” 3.T introduce the food pyramid from the bottom to the top. First come out with the picture of “rice then teach the word. The word teaching of “vegetable ” and “meat”, use a chant to practice the prounication and the sentence pattern. After introduce “rice/vegerable/meat/ fruit”, T: Besides the food we need to eat, we also need something healthy to drink. Then teach the word “juice”. The phonic teaching of the combination letter “ui”. T teach the word “sugar” after “salt”.
