Warming- up. 1. Greetings. 2. Watch a video. T: Do you like western food? Do you know about western table manners? Lets watch a video about it. (After watching) T: Table manners are different in different countries, right? But some of them are the same as Chinese customs. Can you tell me some of them? Ss: . T: Today well learn sth. about Chinese customs. Its the writing part of Unit 10 Youre supposed to shake hands. . Lead in. 1. (show a picture of a big meal and some photos of my families) T: Im going to invite the families to have a big meal. Tina is also invited. She is a girl from USA and is coming to China on an exchange program. But where are they supposed to sit? Please discuss in groups and put the photos around the table. Lead students to make a sentence: In China, the oldest people are supposed to sit on the most important seats. 2 2. During the whole class, make notes in the chart. Its the task of 3a. III. Presentation. 1. Table manners. Show four pictures about Chinese customs and lead students to make sentences.
