Teaching Reflection: In this lesson, I plan to help students learn the new words about family members and the sentence pattern“Do you have any cousins?” Students have learned the words “father, mother, brother, sister, me” in Grade 3. Teachers should explain the meaning of new words on the basis of what they have known, so I begin my class with the video closely related to the topic. In the teaching, the video does arise students attention. It helps students review the words they are familiar with. Also, students have great passion to learn new knowledge. In this part, students master the pronunciation and spelling of the words quickly. For the modelled sentences, students cant use them exactly. They make mistakes when they use yes/no questions to find out specific information. In the presentation of the new sentence patterns, I dont spare much time to give examples. Students cannot completely understand the sentences. Therefore, the time distribution of this period is the main cause. Teachers should make a reasonable teaching plan to make sure all the new points can be understood by the learners.
