The main activities are 1a and 2. Through the model rocket talked by Kangkang and Jane in 1a, students will learn the grammar which is the passive voice in the simple past tense. At the same time, students can know much about the rocket by focusing on the important sentence patterns, such as “What is it used for? ” “Its used for .” . In 1b, by listening to 1a, students listening skills will be improved. In 1c, students can answer 4 questions to make themselves know 1a better. Students will do some practice in 2, which can help to do better in the sentence patterns “be made of, be made from and be used for”. Teaching aims and demands 1. Work with partners to make up conversations according to the example. 1. Arouse Ss interest about inventions and get to know good thinking is helpful to inventing and recall the sentence patterns of usage. 2. Make students know the sentence patterns of describing the material by showing the pictures and setting questions. Invention Works s Inventor voice in the simple present tense.ask students to describe the time of the invention. Q1: When did he made the model camera? Then ask Hu Jinteng ,“When did you made it?” to show the other sentence: He made a model camera in 2018. Encourage them to say the synonymous sentences by using the passive voice in the simple past tense. Show the table about the model camera and lead students to say out the sentences with the passive voice in the simple past tense.Get students to conclude the structure: was/were done. Invention: material, time, country and usage. 4.Show the picture of Kangkang and Jane, and guide students to guess what they are talking about. 5.Look at the model camera made by Hu Jinteng and say the sentences with the passive voice in the simple present tense and the simple past tense. 6.Say out the sentences according to the table about the model camera. 7. Guess riddles. 3 students go to the front to describe the information and others guess what they are. 8.Look at the picture and guess what Kangkang and Jane talking about. 3.Attract students attention and curiosity by showing one students homemade camera. Lead to the Grammar: the passive voice in the simple past tense, as well as consolidate the use of expressing the objects material, usage and time. 3.
