I will introduce anther new, interesting and suitable job for you. Step 2 Pre-readingListeningIn this part, I will
13、 create a situation and introduce the new friend Joe Brown. Ss will be asked to listen to the text and try to find out who is Joe Brown, what he does for a living, what his job is like. The purpose of designing the listening activity is to help Ss get first impression of the text. Many of them may f
14、ail to get the answers so they will be motivated to read the text eagerly. Step 3 While-readingWhen it comes to understanding the text and help Ss cultivate efficient reading strategies, I will instruct Ss to do skimming and scanning. First, I will ask Ss to read the first paragraph and answer the f
15、ollowing the questions: What does Joe Brown do? What is his job like? How do you think of his job? Do you think it is a difficult one or easy one? Next, I will ask Ss to read the second paragraph and hopefully Ss can get that being a police artist is sometimes difficult and know why. Then Ss are gui

Then they need to look at the three pictures of different people presented on the screen and tick the real criminal according to the given description. Later, some minutes will be devoted to the learning of the

Ss circle all the pronouns that they dont understand appearing in the text such as “he, it, him, this, they, he” and I help point out that they can identify what each pronoun refers to according to the context. 18、nunciation and intonation. Step 4 Post-readingInterviewIn this step, I will create a situation. Suppose you are a reporter from CCTV. You want to do a special TV program focusing on people working in the police, including the police arts. If you are the report, what will you ask? The requirement is

Step 5 SummaryI will encourage my Ss to summarize what they have learnt from the text. They are supposed to say they learn the interesting job of police artist and how to understand the
