In contrast, the peoples in Iraq and Jordan are among the least likely to rate themselves as very happy and also have the low est levels of the gene. But the gene and optimism dont alw ays go hand in hand. For instance, Russians score very low

30、on happiness, despite having the right DNA, the Journal of Happiness Studies reports. Climat ic differences are also found to be closely associated w ith national d ifferences in happiness. Study co- author Michael Minkov said, “We cannot fail to notice the high occurrence of the gene in equatorial
