1、高考英语读后续写修辞手法运用讲解1.simile 明喻明喻(simile)俗称直喻,是依据比喻和被比喻两种不同事物的相似关系而构成的修辞格。如:The country, covered with cherry tree flowers, looks as though it is covered with pink snow.开满樱花的乡村,看起来有如粉红雪铺满地。The smile on her face shone like a diamond.她的笑容像宝石一样闪闪发光。The scenery along the Lijiang River in Guilin is just like

6、re 枕头风mushroom fame 一夜成名a mushroom millionaire 暴发户3.metonymy 借喻,转喻借喻不直接说出所要说的事物,而使用另一个与之相关的事物名称。1.以容器代替内容,例如:The kettle boils.水开了。The room sat silent.房间里,人安静地坐着。2.以资料、工具代替事物的名称,例如:Lend me your ears, please.请听我说。3.以作者代替作品,例如:a complete Shakespeare 莎士比亚全集4.以具体事物代替抽象概念,例如:I had the muscle, and they mad
7、e money out of it.我有力气,他们就用我的力气赚钱。synecdoche 提喻提喻用部分代替全体,或用全体代替部分,或特殊代替一般。例如:There are about 100 hands working in his factory.他的厂里约有100名工人。(部分代整体)He is the Newton of this century.他是本世纪的牛顿。(特殊代一般)The fox goes very well with your cap.这狐皮围脖与你的帽子很相配。(整体代部分)4.synaesthesia 通感,联觉,移觉这种修辞法是以视、听、触、嗅、味等感觉直接描写事
8、物。通感就是把不同感官的感觉沟通起来,借联想引起感觉转移,“以感觉写感觉”。通感技巧的运用,能突破语言的局限,丰富表情达意的审美情趣,起到增强文采的艺术效果。比如:欣赏建筑的重复与变化的样式会联想到音乐的重复与变化的节奏;闻到酸的东西会联想到尖锐的物体;听到飘渺轻柔的音乐会联想到薄薄的半透明的纱子;又比如朱自清荷塘月色里的“微风过处送来缕缕清香,仿佛远处高楼上渺茫的歌声似的”。例如:The birds sat upon a tree and poured forth their lily like voice.鸟儿落在树上,倾泻出百合花似的声音。(用视觉形容听觉,鸟落在树上,由它发出的声音联想
9、到百合花)Taste the music of Mozart.品尝Mozart的音乐。(用嗅觉形容听觉)5.personification 拟人拟人(personification):拟人手法是把物(诸如动物、植物、物体、思想或抽象概念等)比作人,赋予它们人的特性、外表、思维、动作,即把本来适用于人的词汇用于物,使之人格化。如:The thunder clapped angrily in the distance.雷声在远处怒吼着。The sun looks over the mountains rim.太阳挂在山边。The city gradually began to breathe ag
10、ain.城市渐渐开始恢复生机。The wind howled in the night.夜里狂风怒吼。The flowers / The curtains danced in the gentle breeze.花儿/窗帘在微风中翩翩起舞。The candle flame danced in the dark.蜡烛的火焰在黑暗中跳动。6.hyperbole 夸张夸张(hyperbole):夸张手法是人们从主观出发,有意识地把事实夸大,故意言过其实,以达到强调或突出的一种修辞手法。它偏重于情感,而不太注重事实,表达得比实际事情更高、更强烈、更有集中性,具有诙谐、讥讽、褒贬等功用。一般说来,凡事物
11、,都可适当地利用夸张去修饰。例如:My gray hair can make a long long rope.白发三千丈。When she heard the bad news, a river of tears poured out.听到这个坏消息时,她泪流成河。Her appearance fairly took my breath away.她的美貌令我神魂颠倒。7.parallelism 排比,平行排比(parallelism):是由两个或两个以上短语或句子构成,其并列的结构相同或类似,意思相关,语气连贯,使得句子读起来流畅,富有节奏感。例如:Reading makes us wis

15、llegory 讽喻,比方(原意“寓言”)建立在假借过去或别处的事例与对象之上,传达暗示,影射或者讥讽现世各种现象的含义。英文解释:an expressive style that uses fictional characters and events to describe some subject by suggestive resemblances; an extended metaphor;这是一种源于希腊文的修辞法,意为“换个方式的说法”。它是一种形象的描述,具有双重性,表层含义与真正意味的是两回事。例如:Make the hay while the sun shines.表层含义
16、:趁着出太阳的时候晒草。真正意味:趁热打铁。Its time to turn plough into sword.表层含义:是时候把犁变成剑。真正意味:到了该努力的时候了。10.irony 反语反语指用相反意义的词来表达意思的作文方式,如在指责过失、错误时,用赞同过失的说法,而在表扬时,则近乎责难的说法。例如:It would be a fine thing indeed not knowing what time it was in the morning.早上没有时间观念还真是一件好事啊!(真实含义:应该明确早上的时间观念。)“Of course, you only carry large
17、 notes, no small change on you.” the waiter said to the beggar.服务生对那个乞丐说:“当然了,你身上只有大钞,不会有零钱的”。(真实含义:嘲讽乞丐连零钱也没有。)11.pun 双关双关就是用一个词在句子中的双重含义,借题发挥。作出多种解释,旁敲侧击,从而达到意想不到的幽默、滑稽效果,它主要以相似的词形、词意和谐音的方式出现。例如:Some talk to you in their free time, and some free their time to talk to you.这是一句名言,译为“有些人在空闲的时候才跟你聊天,而
18、有些人则腾出时间跟你交谈。”;句中前一个“free”是形容词,指“空闲的”,后一个“free”则为动词,指“腾出时间”。A bicycle cant stand on its own because it is two-tyred.这句话的表面意思是:自行车自己站不起来,因为它只有两个轮胎(two-tyred)。而这句话的另外一个意思是:这辆自行车被它的主人骑了很长时间,它现在太累了(too tired)。Covid-19 has given South Koreas biotech firms a shot in the arm.这里a shot in the arm带有双重含义。它本身的含
19、义是“鼓舞人心的事情,强心针”(something that makes you more confident or more successful),这里可以理解为,新冠疫情给韩国的生物科技公司注入了一针强心针。同时,shot还可以指“(疫苗的)注射”,这与这些生物科技公司开发的产品也是相关的。12.parody 仿拟这是一种模仿名言、警句、谚语,改动其中部分词语,从而使其产生新意的修辞。例如:Rome was not built in a day, nor in a year.罗马不是一天建成的,但也不是一年内建成的。(指需要更长时间的努力)A friend in need is a fr
20、iend to be avoided.虽然说“患难见真情”,但一个真的处于患难中的朋友,是众人避而远之的。rhetorical question 修辞疑问(反问)它与疑问句的不同在于它并不以得到答复为目的,而是以疑问为手段,取得修辞上的效果,其特点是:肯定问句表示强烈否定,而否定问句表示强烈的肯定,它的答案往往是不言而喻的。例如:How was it possible to walk for an hour through the woods and see nothing worth of note?我们在森林里走了一个小时连根毛都没看见。Shall we allow those untru
21、ths to go unanswered?难道我们应该让谣言继续传播下去吗?13.contrast 对照,对比,对偶对比(contrast):巧妙地运用对比,可以突出作者想要强调的内容或情感。例如:Many people will soon find themselves rich in goods, but ragged in spirit.很多人很快就会发现,他们在物质上很富裕,但精神上却很贫乏。Everyone in the classroom was chatting happily while Refael sat alone, at a loss.教室里的每个人都在开心地聊天,而拉

24、r darkness visible.没有光亮,黑暗却清晰可见。The state of this house is cheerless welcome.这座房子无精打采地迎接客人。15.climax 渐进法,层进法层递来源于希腊语中“梯子(ladder)”一词,它指思维的发展是以一种均匀或几乎统一的强度和速度进行的,就像是梯子的阶梯一样均匀上升。在形式上,构成层递至少要有三个语言单位,而且这些语言单位的结构要基本相同;在内容上,构成层递的各语言单位在意义上要有关联,且具有递次性,且按照由小到大,由浅入深,由低到高,由少至多,由弱到强,层层递升。例如:I am sorry, I am so s
25、orry, I am so extremely sorry.真的真的真的很抱歉。Eye had not seen nor ear heard, and nothing had touched his heart of stone.看不到、听不到,没有什么可以触碰到他那颗石头般的心。16.anticlimax 渐降法与climax相反的一种修辞法,指的是语言表达的内容急转直下,从意义重大之事突然转为琐碎平淡之事,语气从严肃突然转为滑稽可笑,从而获得嘲笑、讽刺或滑稽幽默的修辞效果。例如:On his breast he wears his decorations, at his side a sw
26、ord, on his feet a pair of boots.他胸口别着勋章,腰间插着剑,脚上套着一双靴子。The duties of a soldier are to protect his country and peel potatoes.士兵的职责就是保卫国家和削土豆皮。17.repetition 反复反复指的是有意重复使用同一个词、短语或句子,用来突出某种感情、强调某个意思。例如:The trees were blown down, the billboards were blown down and the houses were blown down, some of whi
