Teaching Design Analysis of the Teaching material: This lesson is the second period of this unit.The topic mainly talks about animals.The students are familiar with animals.This lesson mainly talk about the features about the ostrich.The students have lay a good foundation in the past.They can describe the animals using the sentence pattern , such as It has. Teaching aims and demands: 1、Knowledge aims: Make the students master the new words ,such as long,short,big,small. Make the students master the sentence pattern It has. 2、Ability aims: Let the students learn to describe the animals using the new words and sentence pattern. 3、Emotion aims: Let the students learn to protect animals in the real life. Teaching key point and difficult points The key point is to make the students listen,read,and write the new words. The difficult point is to Make the students describe the animals. Teaching methods:Play games,group work,TPR. Teaching aids: PPT,blackboard and so on. Teaching procedures: 一、warm up 1.Greeting 2.Review the old words about the body,such as eye,ear,leg,and so on.(Read the words after the teacher 二、Lead in Enjoy a song T:Now,let,s enjoy a song. (Play the video) Answer my question:What animals can you see?(cat,giraffe,monkey,rat,and so on)Where are they?Yes,they are at the zoo. 三、Presentation 1、Teach the new words T:Today,there is a new friend at the zoo.Who is it ?Can you guess? Students:A tiger, monkey. The teacher show the picture about the ostrich,and point at its head,sayLook at its head.What,s does it look like? Lead the students to answer small. The teacher write down the word on the blackboard and ask the students to Read it after the teacher.Then, the students spell it with the teacher. Teacher the other words using the same way. 2.Play the video about the new words,the students read them after the video. 3.Teach the sentence pattern It has . The teacher show the picture about the ostrich,and ask the students to look at its head.Teach the sentenceIt has a small head. 三、Consolidation 1.Make a sentence The teacher show the picture about the animals,and ask the students to make a sentence using the sentence pattern. 2.Play a game The teacher divide the students into three groups,and ask the students to read the words loudly or lowly 3.Fill in the blanks The students look at the pictures and fill in the blanks,and then check the answers. 四、Summary The teacher ask the students to summarize what they learned. 五、Homework Let the students describe their favourite animals. 六、Blackboard Design At the zoo big small long short It has a small head.
