With trembling hands, James gathered the courage to go out. The wind was blowing outside. He took a deep breath and slowly stepped into the dark forest. Then he heard a faint cry just to his left. It turned out to be a baby monkey. Its left hand was bleeding. He looked around but found no sign of other monkeys. James gently picked up the animal and rushed back into the tent. George and Paul were relieved to see James returned safely, but they were surprised at the sight 3 of the monkey. They quickly dressed its wound and fed it. Just then, the tent was open and an adult monkey peeked through from outside. He glanced at the boys and saw the baby monkey. Before anyone could react, the baby monkey was taken away, and the adult monkey let out an excited noise. Yes, it was exactly what George heard before! Then the monkey ran away and faded into the woods. “Well, at least were safe,” said Paul. But as he was about to zip the tent, the monkey came back with a handful of berries. The monkey dropped the berries and disappeared again. “You see,” said James, “Its always a good idea to help those in need.” 听力原文: Text 1 W: You were running slowly today, Matt.
