A verb is used to describe an action, state or o

3、ccurrence. A weak verb is not specific and describes the bare minimum of the action, leading to a lack of colour and energy. Weak verbs Strong verbs eat devour, gulp, feast see glance, admire, spy make create, forge, foster, brew say whisper, purr, mutter, mumble Weak verbs are the basic forms of a

4、specific action, like eat. Strong verbs are a specified form of a broader action, like devour, gulp and feast. Specific Why do we use strong verbs? They paint a specific picture of whats going on, creating a stronger visual image in the readers mind. She walked into the room, her cape trailing after

5、 her. She charged into the room, her cape billowing (鼓起) after her. She strutted (昂首阔步走) into the room, her cape flowing after her. They evoke an emotional response in the reader.
