Ability aims: Developing the abilities of listening and speaking, training the ability of working in groups and cultivating the abilities of communication. 3. Emotion aims: To love nature, to love animals. II. Important points: 1. To understand and speak the sentence pattern “What are they? They are .” and use the sentences in real situations. III. Difficult points 1. To master the four-skill words: ducks, pigs, sheep, cows, geese. 2. Master the animal plural noun. IV. Analysis of the students 四年级的同学对英语学习的主动性都比较高,课堂参与度高,喜欢 英语活动、游戏和表演,有一定的英语学习的自主性。孩子们的思 维方式进一步形成,他们在学习中更多地运用了归纳、总结和推理等 思维方法,有着强烈的好奇心与动手操作的能力。他们喜欢在自己 的探索中获取知识,喜欢在玩中学,喜欢在做中学,喜欢在想中学,喜 欢在用中学。 V. Teaching process 1. Warm-up (1).Greetings! Hello, boys and girls! How are you? Nice to meet you! (2).Sing a song: old Macdonald had a farm. 2. Presentation (1).Setting the situation: Miss Lin and her pupils are visiting a farm and lets go with them. 1, 2, 3 go! What can you see? (2)Words &sentence pattern teaching: The teacher shows a picture of “a pig” on screen and then asks “Whats this?” S1, 2, 3: “Its a pig.” The teacher shows three pigs on screen and asks: “What are they?” Lead to the sentence pattern: “What are they?” “They are.” (3). Ask students to practice the conversation in pairs. (4).The same way to learn “cows, ducks” (5).Pay attention to the word “sheep” “One sheep-some sheep” (6).Show three geese on screen and ask:”What are they?” Pay attention to “goose-geese” (7).Invite several students come to the blackboard and point the pictures to quick ask: “What are they? They are” (8).Ask several students show the back of animal pictures and guess “What are they? They are” (9).The teacher shows the pictures. Try to finish the conversation with students and then play the recording. 3. Drill (1)Read the conversation follow the recording. (2).Try to act the conversation in body language. (3). Role play. 4. Consolidation & Extension (1)Try to make a new conversation with the pictures in blackboard. (2).Show a picture of a big farm on the screen and then circle the animals. (3)Play a game: “Challenge Memory Game”. (4)Game: “Visiting a farm with Miss Lin” 5. Summary & Homework (1).Summary: You all did a good job. Today we have learned the words and sentence pattern.
