Teaching procedure: Step 1 Greeting T: Good morning, boys and girls! S: Good morning, teacher! Step 2 Warming-up 1. Do the action ”pop, pop, popping down”pop, pop ,popping up!” 2. Sing the song ”Good morning Sam”. 3. Review structure ”Do you like?”. Students speak out ”Do you like apples/bananas/oranges/milk?” then, the students who like this kind of fruit should stand up and say ”Yes, I do, Yes, I do.”, next, the students who dont like this kind of fruits should stand up and say ”No, I dont, No, I dont.” Step 3 Teach new words 1.Show them pictures of some foods and fruits. Then teach them how to read these words. 2.Show them pictures and write down new words on the blackboard. Try to make them understand the differences between the singular form and the plural form. 3.Play a game “Have a guess”. Show some pictures mostly covered by other pictures. Ask students to guess what foods or fruits they are. 4.Have a competition and see which group is the best. Divide students into eight groups, then ask them to stand up. Teacher tells the first student of each group one word in a low voice. Then the first student should tell the next student the same word in a low voice too. At last, the last student of each group should tell the teacher what the word is, and the teacher should judge if he is right, then give the group a score according to the last students answer. Step 4 Teach new structures. 1.Lead-in Use two puppets to role play activities, then show them the new language points ” What do you like?” 2.Teach them “What do you like?” and ask them to repeat one by one. 3.Ask boys and girls read “What do you like” in turns. 4.Then show them “I like” on the screen. And teach them how to read “I like”. Next show them pictures and ask them to complete the structure: I like. For example. Show them a picture of bananas next to “I like”. They should make a complete sentence like ”I like bananas.” After finishing this task. Teacher lead them to chant “What do you like?I like bananas.” 5.Free talk time. Teacher asks the students to make conversations one by one. 6.Do a chain-work. Use a soft thing (eg.a soft ball) to do this activity. The teacher throws this soft thing to one student. So the teacher should ask the question, and the student should answer the question. Then the student should throw this soft thing to another student, and the student who throws the thing should ask, the other one should answer 7.Have a competition and see which group is the best. Ask every group to stand up in turns to answer the question. For example, the group 1 stand up, the other groups ask “Group1 Group1 What do you like?” Group 1 should answer “I like” according to the picture given by the teacher. Then the teacher gives them scores according to how many students speak the right sentences. Finally , find the winner and give them a award. 8.Do a listening. Ask them to listen to the recording and try to match the pictures with the correct sentences. Step 5 Summary Chant together and review the key language points. Step 6 Homework Ask them to ask their deskmates “What do you like ?” then draw things what their deskmates like, and sent these pictures to their deskmates as gifts.
