Tell students to love animals and protect animals. II.Teaching Key Points: 1. The key words and the target language in this period. 2. Students learn to talk about animals by using the sentence “It has”. III. Teaching Difficult Points: 1. Students learn to use “It has to talk about the elephant. 2. Students learn to make a monster by using the sentence “It has”. IV. The Analysis of the Students: Students have learned some body parts and some animals in Book 1. At the beginning of the class, I will lead students to review some body parts and the sentence “I have”. Then lead students to talk about the animals. V.The Analysis of the Teaching Content: The content is from Unit 3, Part B of Book 2 in Grade 3. In this part, we want students to understand the conversation in Lets talk. We also hope students can read the conversation with the right pronunciation and intonation. VI. Teaching Procedures: Step I Warm-up and Revision 1. Do some actions. 2. Review some body parts by looking at Zoom. Step II New words learning 1. Show pictures of an elephant and a pig. Call students attention to their eyes. Teach the words big and small. Ask several students to read the word until they can read the word correctly. 2. Point at the elephant and say: It has big eyes. Teach the sentence. Tell students the meaning of has. Review “have” and explain the difference between “has” and “have”. Then make several sentences with “has” and “have”. Point at the pig. Teach the sentence: It has small eyes. 3. Show pictures of a monkey and a bear. Teach the words “long and “short”. Then teach the sentences: It has a long tail and it has a short tail. Step III Presentation 1. First show some “It has”sentences on the screen. Ask students to guess what animal it is.( It is an elephant.) Tell students today were going to talk about the elephant. 2. Show a picture of an elephant. Point at its nose, ears, eyes and tail. Teach the phrases a long nose, big ears, small eyes and a short tail. 3. Ask students to fill in the blanks to present the sentences: It has a long nose. It has big ears. It has small eyes. It has a short tail. Then teach the sentences. Step IV Lets talk 1. Call students attention to the picture on Page 27. Ask : Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing? 2. Play the video for the students to watch. 3. Explain the sentence: Come here, children! 4. Play the tape for students to repeat. 5. Have students work in groups to talk about the elephant. 6.Ask students to role play the conversation in groups. Step V Make a monster 1. Play the video. Pause after each sentence to explain the usage of “Heres” and “Herere”. 2. Hand out body parts of the monster. Let students work in groups to make a monster. 3. Have students come to the front to present how to make a monster and put the monster on the blackboard. Step VI Summary and Homework.
