Teaching preparation Audio,PP-ts,cards,flash,animal headdresses. Teaching procedures 1.Warm-up 1) Greetings 2) Sing a song: At the zoo 2.Pre-reading 1)Ask the students “How many animals do you know?” And then display the pictures of some animals. Ask:”What is it?”: tiger, lion, dog, cat, panda, giraffe,bear(Zoom),squirrel(Zip).Answer: Yes/No/Right/Good with body actions. 2)What animal do you like?Why?Because its cute/fat/tall. 2.While-reading 1) Lets have an art lesson with Zip and Zoom together! 2) Watch the video for the first time and find out”How many animals can you see in the lesson?” 3) Show the pictures of monkey and gorilla and ask”What are they?” Maybe the students will answer “They are monkey.”At this time,teacher can answer ”No,the small one is a monkey,the big one is a gorilla.” 4) Show the picture of gorilla and learn to read “gorilla” with natural phonics. (today-o-go, red-r, big-i, China-a-lla go- ri-lla) 5) Show more pictures of monkeys and gorillas and help the students understand the differences of them. 6) Watch the video for the second time and answer. In this part,the story will be showed in detail from one to six, students have to be able to answer questions with”Yes/No/Right/Good” to express their views. 7) Watch the video for the third time and read aloud after it. And then encourage the students to imitate. 8) Pair work:Act out the dialogue in pairs. 9) Role-play with the animal headdresses. 3.Post-reading 1) Use more animal ,fruit or plants cards and make dialogues.T:Look at the giraffe. Is it small?Ss:No.T:Is it short?Ss:No.T:Is it tall?Ss:Yes. 2) The emotion education:Watch a public service announcement about Practicing the animals by Yao Ming and Beckham. 4.Homework 1) Can you draw?
