Teaching Plan for Unit 9 I like the music that I can dance to. Section B 1a-1d 1. Teaching aims: 1) Language goals: To describe your favorites: using that/which/who clause to describe the person and different things To know about their teachers and classmates : music, sport, books and band and etc. 2) Ability goals: Ss are able to describe their favorites with that/which/who clause. Ss get to use the target language by listening and writing a letter. 3) Emotional goals Ss recall their beautiful memories by talking about the same favorites they shared. Ss will cherish the good memories and relationship though they will graduate. 2. Teaching procedures Teaching procedureTeaching purpose Step 1 Warming-up and lead in Greeting with the students. (Play a music video before class) Teacher talks about his favorite band. Then get students talk about the band they like. The teacher lead in the topic by using that/who clause.Its a free talk with students about the band they like. Ss will take a great interest in it and are willing to talk more. Step 2 Review by talking Get students review that clause by talking and guessing something about their teachers. Ss get to know more about their teachers through this way. After it, get students to review what we can talk about and what sentences we can use to describe our favorite things. Get students use that/who/which clause by guessing and talking about their teachers. It will not only let them use the target language but also think while talking. By thinking of their teachers can recall their memories. Step3 Listening predict Ss can guess what the conversation talk about and make the listening easier for them. Students can guess what may the conversation talk about and it can make it easier for some students to understand the material. It can also help students form the good habit to predict before listening. Step 4 While-listening Listen and write the three things that Michael likes in the first column. Listen again and write why Michael likes each thing in the second column. Listen for details and specific information. Listen for different purposes can develop students listening skills and also correct their pronunciation. Listen for intonation and understanding. The whole class read the listening conversation again with right tones. Step 5 After -listening Ss make a role play according to the listening material in order to practice the target language. Get students try to use the target language and good sentences in the listening material. It can also develop their creativity by making their own dialogue. Step 6 Post-listening Show the pictures and video of the good friends in the class. Get them talk about what the same favorites they shared during three years.The same favorites give them good memories. We are going to graduate soon, but the memories never fade away. Let students write a short letter to their friend, using that/which/who clause. Students can recall the beautiful memories by talking about their good friends. It can help them to write a short letter to their friends.Though we are going to graduate, the memories we have never fade away. Step 7 Homework Polish the letter and send it to your friends. The students can polish their letter or go on writing it. It can be a good chance to express their feeling. Thank you for reading!
