2、g than my sister Section A Period 2. My speech contains 3 parts. Part 1 .Analysis of the Teaching Material and learners Firstly, let me introduce the teaching material. The topic of unit 6 is about personal traits. This kind of topic is closely related to students daily life, so students will be ver

3、y interested in learning it. This can make students learn English happily. Introduce personal characteristics, like tall, thin, short/long hair by making simple drawings. It can attract students attention to the key words. In pronunciation note students learn how to read English sentences fluently.

4、It is also help to improve the reading skills of students. Teaching key points and difficult points: Enable the students to learn to describe different things or people. Make students master how to compare with things or people. Comparative with -er, -ier. more Train students to learn by skimming, i

5、ntensive reading to get the main information from the passage. Make them get more speaking and writing practice and act them out. Secondly, Id like to talk about the students. They are in Grade 8 now. They have already learnt many basic English sentences. They also have their own opinions on differe

6、nt things. On the one hand, they want to express their ideas. On the other hand, they are afraid of make mistakes. So we should think about how to encourage them to show their ideas. Part 2 Teaching and learning strategy Next, I will talk about the teaching and learning strategy. We should encourage

7、 the students to discover and practice. The purpose of teaching a foreign language is to enable learners to use it. So the situation teaching method should be used. 8、s lesson, I will mainly take 2 teaching methods. “ Task-based” teaching method, and the “Communicative” teaching method. The learning methods are: team work, exploration ,students-centered and teacher-guided learning strategies. Part 3 Teaching Procedures Step 1 Warm up I will say hello to a student

9、 Xiao Ming and ask the other students to point out the differences between us. Make them pay attention on “more athletic”. Step 2 Revision I will check out their homework. They work in groups and talk about different animals. Compare with them like : Cats are bigger than mice. But mice can run faste

10、r than cats. See which group can say more sentences. Step 3 Play a game :Who is Tara? This part will train the listening skills of the students. I will draw Tara and Tinas faces. And their eyes , noses, mouths, and hair. I cut them down and put them on the desk. Then read the sentence I wrote, for e

11、xample : Taras hair is longer than Tinas. one student could come and choose the right picture and put it on the right face. Than I will ask a student come to read instead of me, she or he could ask another student to finish the game. Sometimes students may make mistakes. But it helps them remember t

12、he important words in a funny way. After that I will say : which one do you like? Maybe they will say I like Tina because her eyes are bigger than Taras. Make them understand different people have different ideas. Step 4 Taras birthday I will say Taras birthday is coming. I want to bug a gift for he

13、r. Then I will show them three different dolls with different prices. According to the pictures they will practice the target language, “ Doll A is much cheaper than doll B.” “Doll B is much more beautiful than Doll C.” Step 5 Work in groups I will say: Tara invited me to her birthday party. Oh I sa

14、w many famous people there. Who are they? Then I will show them the picture of “happy family”. Some of the students are their fans. So I ask them to work in groups and make a conversation about them. Step 6 Reading comprehension =【 ;精品教育资源文库 】 = This is the important part in this lesson. I will guid

15、e my students to finish 3 tasks. Task 1 Close the book, listen to the tape and try to answer the questions. Are they twins? Who is more outgoing? Check out the answers together. Task 2 Read again and write T/F Ask the students read the passage again write down true or false. Then the team leader wil

16、l stand up and asks someone who want to answer the questions and correct the answers with other students in the group. Task 3 Read the passage in groups Ask them to read the passage in groups. They can read together, or one by one. Then ask some groups to read it in front of the class. Step 7 Guessi

17、ng game Ask the students to write their names on a piece of paper. Then put the papers in to a big bag. Next ask them to choose one piece. Then write down the sentences to describe the person. And read the sentences for the whole class. Other students try to guess who he is talking about. Step 8 Emo

18、tion education Let them know there are many differences between you and your classmates. Try to understand each other and learn from each other. Make a wonderful world.
