They are very interested in this topic.But they dont know the names of illnesses and how to give advice. . Teaching aims Knowledge aims: Listen and read new words::cold, fever, cough, headache, toothache, backache, stomachache be able to give advice on keeping healthy to others with “should, shouldnt” You should drink enough boiled water. You shouldnt drink coffee or tea in the evening. Skill aims: Listen and read new sentence structures: Whats wrong with you? I have a Ability objects: develop and improve their listening, speaking Moral objects: Students are encouraged to care about others and learn about keeping healthy . (stomach, tooth, back) Step 2: present new words about illness by showing a picture of Peppa Pig Step 3: guide the students to find out the rules of these words (body part + ache ) (to cultivate studentsobservation ability and summarizing capability) Step 4: play a guessing game. Act and guess (to arouse students interest and consolidate the the names of illness.) Before- listening Step1: creat a situation where Peppa isnt well, how should her parents ask? ( students are required to be well prepared for the lesson and share ideas in class) Step 2: present the following sentences according to their discussion. Whats wrong with you ? Whats the matter with you? Is there anything wrong with you ? Step 3: guide the students to find out whats the matter with peppa pig and present the key sentences I have a toothache. You should see a dentist , I am sorry to hear that Step 4: Practice in pairs with the pictures in 1c(to consolidate the the names of illness and the sentences) While-listening There are 3 steps, including listening practice, reading and discusion (Here I use the task-based approach and the audio lingual approach.They can get the whole class active in listening and thinking. ) Step 1:Students listen to the material to find out the key information in the dialogue. ( Listening practice is to check whether the students can understand the target language or not and get more information and to develop the Ss listening skills. ) Step 2: Students read with the recording, imitating it. (It is a basic way for students to learn language ) Step 3 : Guide the students to find out sentences about giving advice and discuss to think more about it. (Pave the way for the language output in the next part.) Post- listening It is mainly about The language output ,summary ,emotion output and homework (for this we use Task-based approach,Communicative approach,Situational Language Teaching) Step 1:Try to be a doctor and practice in pairs with the sentence. Students are able to use the target language to ask about illness. They are able to cooperate with others in pairs and groups. You should / shouldnt . Step 2 : Have a role play and learn to care about others and have a healthy life. Step 3 Assignment (homework) Ask the students to review the key points in Section A. Learn to ask about illness and give advice .All the students should be able to finish these 2 tasks.Last one ,they can decide whether they will do according to the language level. (Like this , Students can have more confidence and get good results.)
