There was not one night that I dont remember Mom reading me a

My progress in reading raised my curiosity, and I wanted to know everything. I often found myself telling my mom to drive more slowly so that I could

12、read all of the road signs we passed. Most of my reading through primary, middle and high school was factual reading. I read for knowledge, and to make As on my tests. Occasionally, I would read a novel that was assigned, but I didnt enjoy this type of reading. I liked facts, things that are concret

13、e. I thought anything abstract left too much room for argument. Yet, now that Im growing and the world I once knew as being so simple is becoming more complex, I find myself needing a way to escape. By opening a novel, I can leave behind my burdens and enter into a wonderful and mysterious world whe

14、re I am now a new character. In these worlds I can become anyone. I dont have to write down what happened or what technique the author was using when he or she wrote this. I just read to relax. Were taught to read because its necessary for much of human understanding. Reading is a vital part of my l

15、ife. Reading satisfies my desire to keep learning. 20、ading. My dad is by no means the only person who avoids books. I know lots of people would rather relax on their computers or in front of the TV. Everyone is different and has their own interests, but I think there are lots of benefits of reading, which screen-based activities dont have. Firstly, it

21、s better for your eyes. Looking at screens can be very stressful for your eye muscles, and clearly you should avoid looking at screens for an hour before bed, to get a good nights sleep. One thing that I personally love reading is being transported to another worldI would often forget the time or th

22、ings around me! Reading is a great way to switch off before you go to bed, because you think more about the world of the book, rather than the real world, so you can truly relax. I know you can be transported to a different world in a film or a TV show, but I think books do it better. I also enjoy h

23、earing what people are doing and finding out what they think. Reading gives me the chance to get to know hundreds of new people! It also teaches you to see things from other peoples point of view, and understand other peoples decisions or opinions. With a book, you can hear everything a character is

24、 thinking or feelingyou can really be inside someone elses head! So give it a go! Take 15 minutes when you are waking up, going to bed, eating lunch, or having a coffee.
