Students who are angry, afraid, or experiencing anxiety(经历焦虑) may have their arms crossed(交叉双臂) in front of their chests and their legs closed or crossed, like they are guarding their bodies(保护身体). Students who are sad or worried will nearly always wear a frown(皱着眉). They may also hide their
17、faces in their hands(以手掩面) like they are embarrassed or ashamed(shame). Some students act this way merely because(仅仅因为) they are afraid of being called(call) on by the teacher. However, if a student does not bother(麻烦) to brush her hair(梳头) and her eyes are red from weeping, then I can infer that th
18、ere are deeper issues(更深的问题) at work(在发生). It could be that she is having serious conflicts with(与有严重冲突) other students or at home. Whatever it is(无论他是什么), I know I need to inquire and assess(询问和评估) what is going on. Ultimately(最后), my duty is helping every student to learn(learn). Their body language lets me know when to adjust(什么时候调节) class activities, when to intervene(什么时候干预), and when to talk to students individually(单独地), so they can get the most(收获最大) out of school. Reacting to(对作出反映) body language is an important component of (是的重要组成部分)being a teacher.
